Well I personally believe in the right to say whatever you want no matter who is offended, if someone can't handle it they should find a polite section to hang out in such as entertainment or some less serious subject.
My theory is it makes the person saying these things feel superior. I have heard folks call Latinos beaner and I have heard Latinos call Whites gringos. Some people do not take offense, some do. I personally do not call anyone names.
its not like you have to deal with them, theyre not really there.
I am an Italian, and I am called "dago" and "wop" all the time, and it does not bother me! It is one thing to say those terms out of hate, but also another when it is just a joke. I have black friends, and I say the N-word to them, and they just laugh, and they take no offense to it! The question you should ask, is why do people put so much mind into a mere word?

Actually my Mexican/Hispanic friends say worse things about Mexicans then I do.
some people are ignorant. and there is a racial slur for every race. there are also bad people in every race. get used to it. people are just ignorant.
Name calling has been happening for eons. People who have nicknames for other races are pretty much close-minded and stereotypical.
The only way to stop it is to pray that these people become deaf mute amputees. They can't pronounce anything if they are deaf, unable to type, or talk either.

this is where there is a double standard in our society. The citizens of the us are being taken over by ILLEGAL immigrants. What do these ILLEGAL immigrants do?? They come here, mooch off all of our social programs, fill our prisons, overcrowd our schools, don't want to learn english, join gangs, overwhelm law enforcement, don't pay taxes, and want us to accept them here. And to top it all off THESE ILLEGALS CALL THE USA CITIZENS NAMES, BIGGOTS, RACISTS, ETC... Personally, i don't call people names for no reason, but if someone is here illegally, there is nothing wrong with pointing this out and stating they should not be here. I know there are a few people in this country who call all people of one group derogatory names, but a majority of the people are only speaking out against the illegals. And to top it off, look at what the Mexicans did when miss USA was on.. they actually booed!! can you believe it?? You have it backwards here.. the people with real hatred and the name callers are all of the illegal aliens here and their supporters. to me illegal is illegal. If someone wants to come here to make a better life for themselves, go for it, but do it legally.
Out of Frustration
Because it makes us feel better. Almost everyone is somewhat racist. It's embedded in our brain as a self defense mechanism against people or things we see as a threat. It's the reason lions hate hyenas and zebras fear tigers. Humans are no different than the rest of the animal kingdom except that we humans are aware of what we do. It will all end one day when everyone is the same race (a mixture of everything). Then, we will find other differences on each other to make fun of...that's human nature.

The reason's I think that one resorts to such disrespect,and name calling has to do that either one has gotten their a*ss's kicked,or yet have not experienced such reality. As predator vs prey as it is in any jail facility. Where I can guarantee you that such behaviors would disappear instantly once they wake up looking at the stars bangle banged up nose!

Mexicans eat alot of beans.it's a good protien staple. Wet backs from swimming over the rio-grand. Most of these "names" or stero-types are a result of a pretty common behavior. Childish.kind of like fat kid or four eyes or anything else to make someone better than another.

All Irish aren't drunks and ALL of anything isn't true. I remember people would send kids to a life of therapy over who ate buggers or had a greenie hanging out of their nose. People attack the weak points. Human nature. Really animal nature. Problem is we supposidly went beyond that. Guess we haven't.
