I'm an H1-B visa holder. Is it possible that I can work part-time, 5 hours a day for 3 months?
Answer:
More proof of the fraud that is rampant in the H1-B visa program. If the government finds out, they'll send you back home. As is, you are considered "unemployed" if an employer is paying you "off the books." Questions like this keep me motivated to fight the expansion of this program by constantly writing the criminals in Congress.
Not legally. They might not give you a W-2, but what are you going to do if they send you a 1099 at the end of the year? If you value your visa why not just obey the law?
Generally, a H1B visa is through an employer, so I'm assuming you're already employed. If so, you cannot work for another employer with your H1-B visa. Refer to the source if you have more question.
