How do you legal immigrants feel about the illegal immigration debate?

Answer:
I have many mixed opinions about it. I think that some illegal immigrants should become citizens...the ones who have been here a real long time. I think the illegals who have been here only or less than 4 or 5 years need to go home and wait in line like the rest of people in the word doing the entire process the correct way.

I also think that the US government is at fault for many things...they talked forever about having border security and terror alerts...however, the borders obviously have never been secure. I am in no way saying that Hispanics are a terror threat, but just that anyone can cross the border.
I may not be a legal immigrant but my parent are both LEGAL immigrants from Mexico
and they believe that the illegals (mostly) only want to come here for the hope of a better life and to get a job
I think the debate has been exhausted. I am here legally, but I know and interact with undocumented students, parents, and other individuals. I don't judge them nor project my insecurities on them. All arguments pro and against have been exhausted. I just hope the goverment acts and grants them an access route to documentation with stiff penalties, but a rational reform plan.

One nobel lit. prize winner once said "my homeland is the country where I can live best"... I totally agree.. if life sucked in the U.S. for the non-micro-rich, I'd migrate somewhere else, if not legally then illegally, who gives a damn THAT is not a crime, but a human action to better yourself.

Many Americans simply cannot envision the reality of many illegal immigrants, it is such a far notion to grasp. They cannot see beyond their trailer parks or their gated communities.
It depends on the Values of the Legal Immigrant, some were
very Strong Values and Law Abiding. Other cling to Dedication to Mexico. I respect the latter as they as really
Patriotic Americans. The Others are only arrogant and thing
they are Entitled to be Here.
I am a legal immigrant, and seeing the struggle of my parents and my family coming to America to serve a better life for us was pretty unfathomable.I believe that the immigrants are the ones who truly shape America. They do come here in hope of having a better future for themselves and their families, and escaping harsh lives. There are so many Americans who are against them, but their great grandparents, or families were also immigrants. I just hate how Americans are so against them, saying that they need to go back to their homelands, but then again if they do, America would fall apart. Who would do the "actual" work? Who would work minimum wage full time?
It's pretty much the same for all of us whom emmigrated from other countries. Especially to our ancestors, our parents and our grandparents. Without immigration, how will this country be sustainable with building a better future? Europens were once the immigrants, so as well other parts of the world. Braniacs, criminals and normal people immigrate to the land of oppotunity for the one thing all of us see.

All immigrants are the same. Legal immigrants or illegal. They're just people. All of us are people. What makes law be the difference to distinguish which one is the right one...just to give a better hope for the upcoming generations? Will clash of values (wheter you're rich or poor) will distinguish that kind of thing as well?

If we now considered to be Citizens of America...were our parents or grandparents or ancestors were really known as Citizens of U.S.A (based on the historical viewpoint) as well from the slavery era??
i am a legal immigrant and feel sorry for illegals. most of them just want a better life. but what i hate the most are stuck up illegals who think they are entitle to everything
