Its probably a government contract. My guess is that that is where the most people with that experience would be residing. Not many people with border patrol experience in the central midwest, for example...

Well DynCorp is obviously making butt loads of money from the federal govt. as a contracted security company, take it up with your congressman/woman.
Another thing you fail to see, is it is soooo much more dangerous to patrol those borders..It command a much higher pay..Its a pity we don't pay our soldiers this kindof money, but soldiers are expendable.

CBP has Federal jobs in Iraq as well, but not many take the job. I assure you there is no flocking of CBP agents to Iraq.
Outrageous indeed. The troops should go on strike considering Bush doesn't think they need the extra .5% of their pay raise. Which amounts to about $6 a month. Food stamps and WIC is good enough for them though.

Yeah I'll bet they are jumping all over the job. Who wouldn't? A chance to catch a bullet in hell. I wouldn't be too concerned, there are many firms trying to lure workers to their potential demise with money. The real issue is who wants to be a border patrol agent making a whopping 30K anyway. Funny isn't it.
Read up on the history of DynCorp using Google search. Use "I hate DynCorp" or "DynCorp+Balkans scandal" also check out their South American drug interdiction, seems some of their employees were smuggling drugs here to the U.S. with kickbacks!
