What is your opinion about cubans?
Answer:
flygrl16: Make you look bad? You make yourself look bad saying shitty things like that. I love it when people generalize, just looovvvee it.
Cubans like any other race have really good people, kinda good people, bad people, shitty people, etc.. How can you possibly say all cubans are good or bad? Do you know them all? People can talk about the cubans they know, that's it.
I personally love their food.
Ricky on I Love Lucy show seemed ok,hes the only one I knew of.
American Cubans love Freedom.
They love America.
They love our Military.
And, naturally, they vote Republican.
The Cuban people have a rich and varied history. The people of Cuba can trace their ancestry to Native Indians, African slaves, and Spanish immigrants. Their culture is varied; a Cuban can be atheist, Catholic, or a practitioner of Santoria or even other faiths. The Cubans still on the island have endured a boycott of nearly 50 years and have learned how to survive. The Cubans who emigrated to this country have become a vibrant and vital part of our culture-and are found in all parts of our nation.
Same as every other group of peoples.
the only Cuban I don't like is Fidel Castro; otherwise, they're a good group of people (the ones i know)
It would be nice to know what you are talking about....
I understand that a lot of people have left Cuba and fled to the United States, and are still trying to do so. I respect their opinion on their former homeland and wouldn't try to change it.
I'm a libertarian and not a fan of communism. However, I have to admire the fact that when the communist Russian government collapsed, and Cuba no longer recieved oil shipments from their comrads, they (the common people, not the government) quickly figured out a way to live on far less power, and had to relocalize their entire economy. I also admire the fact that those in the medical field see their profession as a calling, not as a chance for getting filthy rich.
And....that's about it. Unless you were talking about the cigars, which I've heard are pretty good.
they're just like anyone else. like us, they also hate santa.
(This opinion is coming from the UK btw... I know this is an american Q, but I couldn't resist)...
The cubans are a great people, their music is amazing, their culture is the most vibrant I have ever encountered and the US should not have labelled the place as a rogue state, the cold-war is over, and communism is not something to denounce an entire people over.
Interesting fact, Kennedy was sitting in the Oval office when he called his aide and told him to order over 1000 cuban cigars from Havana, the aide placed the order and Kennedy put down the phone... a few seconds later he called in his chief of staff and signed a piece of paper he had on his desk banning all further imports from Cuba for the next 40 years! The man had style!!!
My neighbor is Cuban, but born in the USA. His father, at age 15, arrived in Florida on a raft with five other people. He immediately needed shelter, so he curled up and went to sleep behind a very small Cuban grocery...he recognized his language in the window out front and felt it might be a safe place to be, The next day, the owner brought him in and fed him, and then he gave him a little job in exchange for food and a place to sleep in the store at night. Today, he owns several grocery stores and has a lovely home in Florida. He has five children and all are well educated . He made this country his home through hard work and not expecting a handout from anyone. he just wanted work, and honest work. This is what I find to be true of Cubans. They are hardworkers who assimilate well here in the USA. And... they are very good looking, too !!
what about them? what are you trying to bring up?
They are human, just like the rest of us(well most of us).
They are like any other person.
They are my brothers.
I hope they can reach true liberty.
Out of all Hispanic immigrants, they have the highest numbers of businesses, and support themselves. They are very good for this country because they create jobs.
Some people don't like them (like Mexicans) because they (Cubans) vote Rep.
As far as the Cuban people are concerned, I have always found them to be polite and engaging. It's the leadership that we need to be leary of.
Cigars?
Or people? I like them... in Cuba!
At leats they give a good name to hispanics, unlike the damn mexicans that fcuk everything over and make us look bad.
