It's the first thing that I found out that made me swing towards cracking down on illegal immigration. About 10 years ago, Bob Dornan accuse illegal immigrants of voting. They dound that there was alot of voter fraud in California. When the election went through Bob dornan lost by just over a hundred votes. THe news Item found that the illegal immigrants learn how to vote from immigration rights group. I am afraid it may get so organized it would be like the movie Gangs of New York. I like to ask everyone how much identification do we need ot show before voting. The have no right to vote, but our government refuse to crack down on it. THose who don't care obviously do not understand how Democracy works.

Only citizens are allowed to vote, everywhere in the world. And, fyi, no, the United States did not found the right to vote... as an example: ancient Greece.
If they are able to stay here and take away jobs of people that are already citizens, then they might as well vote. What the Bush administration wants to do is keep them here to work for cheap wages, which is good for big business and bad for Americans, and not let them vote, which is also good for big business and bad for Americans. Aliens, as far as I'm concerned have no right's in the United States. This is not their home country , and being a true American ( indian) as far as I am concerned my ancestors should have done away with all of the white men that got off the boat and brought all their sickness with them. Our people was doing just fine without alcohol, mumups, common cold, and etc. No Aliens shouldn't have the right to vote, they are not wanted here anyway.

Beyond requiring applicants to sign a pledge on voter-registration forms affirming that they are U.S. citizens, there is no way to prevent the nation's estimated 8 million to 12 million illegal aliens from casting ballots in November, area elections officials said.
Locally, only Virginia requires voters to provide their Social Security numbers, but the state does not require voters to show their Social Security cards.

with a few purchased forms of identity like birth certificates, social security cards, drivers licenses- and of course they are readily available, proof of residence. and that is easy electric bills etc. they can get a voters card. don't fool yourself. in some areas there are as ballots printed in over 30 languages. do you really believe this is necessary if these were all citizens. cities large and small do not the ability to check the validity of the identifications shown

It doesn't really matter, does it? We still use the Electoral College system which means their vote won't count anyway. There are not enough illegal immigrants in each state to sway the state vote. In other words, a red state will always be a red state and a blue state will always be a blue state.to answer your question, it doesn't matter to me.
I don't think that is acceptable at all. Why should they be able to vote for the president of the USA when they are not even legal here.?
i say they should be able to vote. they live here now and they have the right to kniw what is going on and vote for what the country wants to do.
I think we need proof of citizenship to vote as a matter of law, as Arizona has passed into law. Only with fewer loopholes.
