Are we all anchor babies?
Answer:
It's funny how anti-illegals have the assumption that Mexican mothers who are about to give birth "RUN" from Mexico to the US and give birth, that's really dumb to say.
I don't know how that term came to be used. Whoever's born here is a citizen, and it would be unAmerican to say that we must take their citizenship away or to not allow children of "illegals " to become citizens.
i sure didn't
What's your point?
No, but my parents didn't sneak across the border from Mexico when she was ready to pop either.
No. The English forced them to Georgia, and were told to remove the Indians and Spanish.
My ancestors aren't anchor babies -they were overt invaders.
Some of mine were here when the Constitution was adopted and their citizenship is set down therein. Regarding the only branch that came after immigration laws, in the 1860s, yes, I do have their naturalization papers.
You could argue mine did since my father was in the Marine Corps and my mother had me at a military funded hospital.
My parents were citizens and my grandparents came over here legally through Ellis island.
My parents were both born here, no proof needed
Didn't need to, my entire family has been here for at least a century. Before that, my ancestors came here LEGALLY. Why break the law when it isn't necessary?
My parents were second and third generation and the relatives from whom the descended immigrated legally through Ellis Island.
Anchor babies are born to non citizens, we know who they are, they know who they are, we just don't have the intestinal fortitude to do anything about it.
By not securing our borders and enforcing our laws, we cheapen the sacrifices of all those immigrants who have come here to make this country their home, and we are spitting on every person who is currently undertaking the process of becoming a citizen.
I know for certain I wasn't an anchor baby because I was put up for adoption right after I was born!
Please. My grandparents did not come here to have children and sponge off of the American citizens, unlike an awful lot of Illegal Criminal aliens that cross the border just for that purpose. Apples and oranges.
No, but we all know that most of us are NOT anchor babies. My Mom didn't cross the Rio Grande when she was 9 months pregnant to have me at the U.S. Taxpayers expense and then claim citizenship.
Not everyone is fresh off the boat. Not everyone came here through Ellis Island. Not everyone's Grandmother is full Italian.
Believe it or not there are plenty of people in the States who s family has been here for generation and generations. Why do people act like we are all new here ?
No, that term does not apply to the children of citizens. I'm sure my parents showed whatever proof of ID the hospital required, and I've seen their birth certificates. Are you suggesting that the children of anchor babies should not be considered citizens? We don't even go that far.
Seriously, I do know what you meant. You are trying to invalidate our citizenship to make it seem like illegals are doing nothing wrong.
5TH generation American here,so guess Im a native,My family has fought for this country and worked hard to have a decent life,we respect this country and fly the American flag.My family can show our family tree if that is what you are asking,I think anchor babys might be missing a few branches.
imback_missme the same for my family too. They fought in the revultion and others wars too.my family is traced back that far and maybe even a little further back.
When you're born in the USA to legal citizens you are definitely not an anchor baby. Any other questions about anchor babies? Not that it makes me any more of an American but my family has been here since the inception of the United States of America.
No just the ones born to illegal immigrants and mostly since 1990.
Yes, we are all anchor babies. Some people are mad at babies! How can you be mad at a baby?
