Can I travel abroad when my green card application process is pending?

I am currently on H1B, and have one of my best friend's wedding in my home country, however- my application process will be pending- is there a way to travel outside of the US without risking anything?

You have to apply in advance for what is called "Advanced Parole." If that isn't approved, don't risk traveling. If you leave the country, even just for the weekend, it is up to the guy at the border whether or not you can come back. All it takes is one jerk to screw up your immigration for years. I would be nervous even traveling with advanced parole. But, that's just me,

You can apply for advance parole. I forget the form number, but you can look on the USCIS website.
As what i heard, you can, by applying advanced parole. But to be safe, ask advise from your attorney.
