If I sponsor my half sister from Thailand on a tourist visa and then 6 months later she goes missing aka. ...?

She becomes an illegal alien. As her sponsor, any chance I would go to jail or loosing my house. You think immigration will enforce the rule since they are such a weakling. Does anybody has any experience to share?

sorry, but there is no sponsorship needed for a tourist visa.if she over-stays her visa.she will start to accrue what is known as bad time...bad time is how USCIS gauges how long a ban should be for when and if they catch her...my opinion is this.if they catch her, then she will be rightfully deported...and if you are with her and you are also, then they will deport you too.if your going to immigrate, do it legally...
yup you would be responsible of her actions. Thats what the word sponsor makes you accountable for.
If you know where she is, you are better off reporting homeland security of her whereabouts. If she does something illegal, homeland security may think twice on any future sponsorships you may want. If you are a resident her actions can affect your citizenship process. thanks hope it helps
