I'm not at all surprised the politicians are "shocked" at public reaction regarding illegal aliens.
For years, the majority of our congressment have been corrupt, insensitive, and uncaring of their constituents' wishes. Promise them anything, give them nothing is the consensus I get from people I know.
But then...I'm from the "middle kid's" standing. Lower middle class, I'd say. Work our fannies off all our lives, play by the rules, pay our taxes, can't afford to owe enough to get tax breaks so we file w/out deductions, pay MORE than our fair share because of it, and on and on and on.
Yes..I'm SICK TO DEATH of hearing how bad upper income people have it. That's a load of bull. They're still rich...I'm still just making ends meet. No new car, EVER, very modest home, can't afford to send my ONE kid to college (oh, yes, we make just a HAIR too much for Pell Grants...and her academic scholarships are too small to help much), Now I'm not saying I'm not thankful for what we DO have...but I am saying if everyone paid 5-10% off the TOP of their income, this country would be fine. Everyone would pay their FAIR SHARE...no write off's, no deductions, none of that business.
Anyway, on immigration...send the illegals home. No amnesty. No jail time. No fines. No, no, no, no! Any part of amnesty is not fair to those of us who abide by the laws, pay if we break laws, pay our taxes, etc. PUNISH THOSE WHO HIRE ILLEGALS!! Hello? Is anybody out there listening? You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out why they come here. And don't tell me Americans won't do the jobs. Just stop paying those sorry low wages to the only people who will take them because it's better than what they make in their countries, and see if you can't fill the jobs. Give me a break. Cut off welfare to those who don't really deserve it or have made their lifestyles around it for generations. Then see how fast they fill jobs rather than starve.
Oh, and while you're at it, stop all this allowing American industry to send their jobs to other countries. Stop all this unequal trade between countries. Stop all this low cost, low quality importing of inferior products. Keep the jobs in our country. Come on, people, use your common sense.
And while I'm at it...GET RID OF THE LOBBYISTS! They're a scourge on humanity.

Keep up the onslaught. This is not just a republican problem, with what I've seen and heard this crosses all parties. People are mad as hell and will not take it anymore. I don't care if you are democrat or republican or martian you need to be paying attention to the people. This is a hot button. I warned my congresswoman of this well over a year ago. She is fighting like mad to kill any amnesty for illegals.

Round up 12 million people and deport them. Without the dreaded tax raise that that hopeless operation would doubtlessly need. Without the national guard and its equipment.
Better yet, just declare a "war on illegal immigration." That'll look like we're doing something!
Or here's something that might actually work- Hammer, and I mean hammer, those who EMPLOY illegals. You know, supply and demand? Cut off the demand. Anyone found guilty of employing an illegal worker loses their business license for one year. That would pretty much be that.
America has a long, rich history of immigration. I do not believe those immigrating to this nation will have as damaging of an effect as the Xenophobes in the media are leading you to believe.
Furthermore, I disagree that this bill is amnesty; at least not for the people entering our nation illegally (the word fits better for what being done to those companies that employ them, they seem to be getting out of this Scott-free).
Just like terrorism, you cannot fight immigration without addressing the root causes, which are employment and poverty. Give people a choice, stay in Mexico and starve or come to America and be prosperous, and they will make the latter choice every time.

"NOTHING" will not get us anywhere, it will only make the current immigration problem worse.
I am not sure when our elected officials will "get" what the American voters and citizens expect them to do because nearly all of them have lost touch with their constituency. I believe that our government officials, TV personalities, candidates for public office haven't figured out just how many poor people we have in America these days. We see politicians and government officials get out of Lincolns, Cadillacs and etc. and all this "fat" is paid for through the taxpayers who fund this atrocity. Why do we continue to allow those in office to live better than the people they are there to serve? We better take America back soon or there won't be an America worth taking back!
We cannot let up. I have called nearly everyday, and will continue to call.
They've taken notice, just keep at it and increase the volume of emails, calls, protests, etc. against amnesty and we may just win this fight to protect our country.
Say No To Amnesty Now! Neither party in congress knows what illegal means. I can take you to hundreds of job sites in Florida, where there are illegals working, but law enforcement refuses to do anything about it. God forbid if we did something illegal, we would be in jail!
Maybe when we vote the incumbents out in 08 (maybe not all of them but those dumb-dumbs that want amnesty so much). We'll keep on fighting no matter what. Some facts here: in 1964, Pres. Johnson ended the Braceros program (google it) and illegal immigration went up alot and in the 1980's Pres. Reagan gave over a million illegals amnesty. 1980's= >1 million; 2007= >12 million. Amnesty's not the solution. We need to being these 2 programs back: the Braceros program and "Operation w**b***" program (Eisenhower was tough on illegal immigration during his Presidency). I figured if amnesty was given, by 2020 we'd have between 144 million and 400 million. We have to watch it before it's too late. Thanks!
