He can't understand what it means to be an American, it doesn't mean a race, religion or ethnicity, it means a way of life and thinking that he will never embrace. He thinks on a soccer-match level, Mexico vs. U.S., it's a loser mentality.
Hispanic Americans are good Americans. Mexicans in America will never assimilate, will never learn the language, and revel in some idea of ruination of America, and that is not in the interest of ANY American.
Actually for a little fun I would have asked him the questions you wanted to ask him, just to see what he would say.

They need to understand that because there government keeps them poor that is the way they will stay why come to america and start pushing their way of life on america . if you live in america learn american ways if you want mexican ways stay in mexico it is real simple . There's a sort of a sense of community and brotherhood amongst hispanics, though people may be different, they are all connected together by one heritage that binds them together. Hispanics born in America tend to lack that sentiment.
As for your shortsighted statements, jobs are lacking for americans because americans are not educating themselves to the proper level nowadays, jobs are being outsourced to nations that will do it cheaper, like India and China. The "American" capitalist way is working exactly as it should. If you aren't willing to work for X amount of wage, some else will, and they will get the job. You compete or you lose. That's not an illegal's fault. That's the fault of our own government.
Plus. The federal minimum wage has gone UP, not down. Besides, raising the minimum wage will cost us all in raised prices and more lost jobs as companies will fire more people to compensate for the pay increase.
