Amnesty in the Ag bill?

I think it's about time we reminded them that they are merely temps, not full time employees, don't you??

They won't stop until all of Mexico is here and we are all working for $8 an hour.
They should be tried for treason! And since we are stuck getting almost all of our food from China I don't understand why we need the workers.
Living in a border state, I see how many illegals come into our work force. I also know how hard it is to keep them out.
I would propose amnesty with a 5 year visa. All illegals would be required to do several things:
1. Register and keep the dept of immigration informed of their work status and their address.
2. People who hire those with amnesty provide health insurance.
3. Visas are revoked if one breaks the law.
4. They must work to stay in the country.
5. Visas could be extended if they have children in college.
6. They pay into fed income tax and social security tax, with the understanding, that they can not collect on social security unless they are granted citizenship.
The goal here is to track those that are already here. To obtain funds from those that are. And to give them a chance to build capital to return to their own countries to start a business of their own.
I have never understood why cubans who make it here are automatically granted amnesty and mexicans are not. Of course I know it is all to do with a beef with Fidel many, many years ago. And in the meantime, we have created a black market for those fabulous cuban cigars!
