Do you think we should just leave the illegal immigration problem up to the border states?

Answer:
Could not agree more with you. But our dork for a Govenor (Perry R-Texas) should have his "republican" status revoked. Ran on a illegal platform and had done SQUAT about it and will not if it is left up to him.
Hypothetically: IF Texas and AZ do something about it and NM and Cal dont, well.you see my point? Still holes in the border. The same with the north. Wash and Montana might do somthing but Idaho and NDakota may not. That is why this is a FEDERAL issue.

If it were up to me. The illegals already here would have 2 choices...2yrs military service=citizenship or be rounded up like loose cattle and deported.
No. We're all one nation and illegal immigration effects us all. Just because they come in through Texas doesn't mean they don't end up in Pennsylvania working at the race tracks or cutting lawns.
No, because it has spread.
It is not only the border states that suffer from illegal immigration. These people travel to all states and it is our nation as a whole which suffers the expense of making sure the children are taken care of and feeding and medical expenses, etc.

Our government is to free in bending the rules for non citizens and allowing our own to suffer.

I am about to be sarcastic, apologies ahead of time for my big mouth opening and not shutting up.
So, instead of making it easier for illegals to become citizens why not just deport all "We the People" because in essence that is what our government cares about.

They need voters and it seems they do not care where they get those voters as long as they keep their cushy jobs.
No. Illegals don't affect just "border states," in any sense. From economics, such as the drain on social services, lost tax revenues, and education to lost wages for Americans.

Bad idea. Illegal immigration is a nation-wide problem. Once they get in, they fan out and are in ALL the states now.
No, because the border states couldn't afford to do what was necessary to control the borders. It would take national funding. And since it is a national issue, this is one time where the government should be involved. Now all we have to do is get them involved. This latest legislation is merely meant to pacify the people so we will turn our attention elsewhere while the illegals keep on coming in. Nothing changes.
Interesting suggestion. If we did, the enforcement-only House Bill Hr 4437 last year would not have passed. Border state votes:

85 votes--no
75 votes--yes
(granted, my math and geography might be off a little--the link to votes is below if you want to count votes by border state)

For Comprehensive Senate reform bill last year
CA -2
AZ-1
VT-2
ND-1
MT-1
MN-2
MI-1
ME-2
NH-1
ID-1
TX-0

That's 14 out of 22 voting yes for reform
If border states have to protect them selves perhaps we should succeed from the union and become our own country since the federal government is fukkin useless!
P.S. Nevada is not a border state.
Immigration is a national problem and it is the federal government who is supposed to deal with it.
