The biggest mistake we ever made was when we gave Amnesty the last time. The ironic thing is that Ronald Reagan could not be elected governor in California today because of the Amnesty that he signed into law. The fact that we gave Amnesty before made it clear to all potential illegal immigrants that we were going to do it again. The INS is always in the hands of corrupt leadership (only Eisenhower took enforcing our immigration laws seriously and he stuck 15% of illegals on a ship and deported them to deep in Mexico; the rest got the idea and went home), so they know that the borders are unlikely to be enforced (the government even jails Border Patrol agents who do their job).
We're going to be flooded with even more illegal immigrants to get the Amnesty. Then we're gonna have even more come here after that because there's gonna be another Amnesty in 20 years or so, if we aren't in the North American Union with Mexico and Canada by then (which is already close to becoming a reality; see spp.gov).

Granting amnesty will only fuel the fire for more illegals to come here, then what are we going to do with all of the non-working "legal" immgrants we just granted amnesty too, we will just have to keep supporting them.

Well, most of the illegals I know already get legal wages: the minimum, but legal nevertheless.
When laws are made, there is always someone who benefits, lets see who benefits from this. Its not always the first person or the second, they are always the decoy of the real person behind the law that is being voted into law.
Everyone is missing the point on this bill, especially the liberal media. It is AMNESTY, if it walks like a duck and quack likes a duck...guess what? Its a friggin DUCK!. Not only does this bill give them citizenship, all their family is legal as well. Thats a heck of a lot of old people that need Social Security that have NEVER PAID A DIME! It also allows the now legal immigrant to become vested in SS in 6 quarters. That is a year and a half. It takes real citizens 40 quarters to become vested in SS. That is 10years. Fair? This is the tip of the iceberg on this one ladies and germs.

Amnesty< the gift that keeps on giving
I heard all illegal aliens are 100% border jumping strawberry pickers and they rob and steel and have horns growing out their heads.
Believe it or not many illegals here contribute greatly.
first of all they should be paid the legal wages. so by the sound of it, you hire workers and if you don't stop complaing, its not going to pay them out of your pocket.
They will pay taxes legally, isn't that what you whine about all the time! So therefore they will be paying for your healthcare, your childs education! Oh wait...they already pay taxes.and if you start paying legal wages maybe lazy Americans will start doing those jobs!
That's the punchline to the joke on the taxpayers. We start all over again oh and again this is the 2nd time. History is repeating itself.
The real solution is as follows
First build the wall, there are many contractors who want to do it.
Second set strong cameras, which will actually create some jobs, maintenance is needed, so it does 2 jobs at a time. Also test spy systems over the border, spying out where border-crossers might be.
Third, have U.S. soldiers train along the border, so they execute both training and vigilance.
Fourth, tell Mexico's government to have their agents divert any potential border-crossers, if not fine them for all the ones that are caught crossing, that'll partially help fund the project.
If they renege, they better offer a better solution.
Fifth, the ones that are here and obey the laws and believe in the goodness of the U.S. and its people. Should be given a chance to contribute to the U.S., yes there are illegals that will contribute.
Sixth, the U.S. should chose another country in the third world and start a project of getting it up to U.S. economic levels, and keep multiplying the project.
These steps will reduce immigration to normal levels and the U.S. will be the champion of the day.
on the other side of that coin is this---if employers have to pay fair wage to immigrants and the border security they are also including in the reform works then employers will hire more Americans seeing they have to pay the wages anyway.Right now they get away with paying little and hire illegals to work.What do you say about that?
