Advanced parole, how long to process?

I am married to a US citizen and currently have perminant residency papers being processed. I really want to visit my family in the UK this August or September, I haven't been able to see them for 8 months and really miss them.
Does anyone here know how long advanced parole takes to process or if it will be approved if it is not an emergancy?
Also does anyone know if I can travel to a place such as Puerto Rico while my papers are pending?
Thank you.

Answer:
the advance parole takes between 2 and 3 month. they pretty much always approve it (unless you didn't submit a document they asked for), it doesn't have to be an emergency. on my application I put that i wanted to go visit my family ( mine took 3 months to process).
and yes you can go to puerto rico because it's a US territory(as long as the flight is direct i think).and if you wanna be completely sure you can call them on 1-800-375-5283
