Why doesn't my husband get his check stubs?

my husband has been working for the same man for a year now only 1 month of that year he recieved his check stub . i don't find that right . we need those for my chidrens medicaid and they want give the check stubs at all what do i do and yes he has recieved the same pay as always.

Answer:
Demand the stubs and threaten to call the labor board. This employer definitely has something to hide and your husband is 100% entitled to those stubs by law.
Call his employer and ask for his year to date totals.
Just ask the man to give him a check stub.
Your husband gets a pay stub.
.
He has all right to ask for his pay stubs- & if he is not bringing his pay stubs home- that's maybe because #1 he's working under the table, or #2 probably getting more money than you think, & he doesn't want you to know about it. It shouldn't be a problem for his boss to give him the paystubs if there's nothing to hide. Don't his check comes attached to his paystub anyways? That I know of everytime you get a check you get a stub along with it. If I was you- maybe you should look into that. Your hubbby probably tells you he asked for the paystubs, but he probably just didn't because he's already getting them. N E ways good luck.
well maybe he got a raise and does not want you to know because he is spending the extra money on himself or someone else. First call his employer and see if he is getting one. If he is not ask him if he could send info to who ever needs the info. I am not sure on who you would call on it other than maybe the irs and see what they would say. he does need info at end of the year to file income tax.Or are you sure he is not getting paid under the table. Than he would not get a stub.
He is required by law to give you a some sort of reciept of payment to reflect the taxes being withheld from his checks..even if it is a hand written one.
It sounds like the employer is fixing the books..talk with your worker on who to contact they should know..but I do believe it would be the labor board.
But don't be suprised if your hubby goes to work and finds out the boss is out of business as IRS agents are loading up computers and documents.
First are you legal . That may seem harsh but the only reason a employer will legally get away from not giving a pay stub is if hubby is payed under the table . If you are legal then by law he has to give him one and report his earnings to the IRS for tax's .
What you need for your children's medicaid besides check stubs- which by the way are very hard to reproduce without cutting a duplicate check ( which obviously cannot be done without also having to void the check) on every accounting program I have ever worked with in the last 10 years.

Much easier to produce and much more effective :

You need a current earnings report for the last 6 weeks- that will suffice at the welfare office to apply for your medicaid. you will also need a statement from your husbands employer that health insurance is not available through his employer in order to qualify for medicaid. if it is available- check stubs, wage statement or not- you are more than likely not eligible for medicaid.

You might want to speak with your husband's employer's payroll clerk to get the documents you need. chances are his direct super has no idea what he is talking about when he asks for check stubs for medicaid.
I think it is your husband ,that does not want you to know his real income, the employer is required to give you tax forms yearly {w-2 or w-4) That show money made and taxes withheld, for US income tax purposes, he has nothing to gain by not giving a pay stub.
