F-u-r receiving government help can it affect the chances of husband becoming a citizen?

if u marry an immigrant and then report it to the government since u r recieving government help what happens... i know i am getting off the assisstance but will it affect the chances of him becoming a citizen

Answer:
How are you going to sign papers to support him when you can't even support yourself? I would think it would affect his chances big time.
Short answer, you might go to jail.
You are allowed to get food stamps and medical without it affecting his chances, but you cannot get cash assistance as that will completely disqualify him. good luck
Why should we take someone else in to support? We're doing that for too many people now !!
If your asking how it would affect his chances of becoming a citizen I would say none because it is interviews and a history test, if you mean becoming a RESIDENT it can afftect him big time.
