" E Pluribus Unum " or " Semper Fi " are written in LATIN. Americans: Do you know Why ?

Thanks for your answers

Answer:
E Pluribus Unum means - "From many - One". It refers to the original 13 states coming together to form one nation - the United States of America.

Semper Fi is short for Semper Fidelis. This is the motto of the U.S. Marine Corps and it means, "Always Faithful."

Sometimes catch phrases in Latin add a little weight to the thought and usually indicate they have been around for a long time. In schools long ago, Latin was considered the "standard" language much like English is today and everyone learned it. Church was in Latin and not so long ago prescriptions were written by doctors in Latin for "clarity."

When things were translated into Latin, it was to make them permanent and understandable to all. The phrases you mention are more than 250 years old and will go on a lot longer.

Because the early Romans spoke a dead language called Latin that I studied for years. It is used in medicine and for many quotes as it is the base language for all of the romance languages that we speak today. One we should be aware of is caveat emptor as you are apparently going to try to sell us a bill of goods! How do you think that this pertains to Immigration?
Latin is a 'dead' language, meaning it is not subject to change with usage over time.

Latin is considered the language of learning, and once it was required to know Latin to get into any college or university in the States. The English language is also filled with Latin 'cognates' which produces the doublets that make English a rich and descriptive language, and which makes studying Latin important for your command of English.

So yes Americans do know why Latin is included in important English language documents.
Yes, I do, but you're probably just going to springboard into some La Raza propaganda playing off the words "Latin" and "Latino". Ho hum. Do you ever bother to ask any LEGITIMATE questions?
