Is anyone here pro-immigrant like I am?

Answer:
I fully support ALL immigrants in the U.S. There are no illegal immigrants. Some persons may enter the US illegally, but that doesn't make them illegal people.
No!
I have no issue with legal immigrants. But if you are blatantly disguising the illegals to include in your pro- immigrant argument in your question - then my answer is no.
Most Americans (at least the one's I speak with) are pro-immigration. Most Americans have a problem w/ Illegal Aliens / Illegal immigrants. Every country in the world has some type of control of their borders. However, in America, we are spit at, shouted at, called racist, etc., etc. I guess illegal immigrants want 'freedom of speech' but only for them. Otherwise, 'we'll' be killed in our own streets while the coward police just watch.
I don't know what context you are using it. Few countries, including us, have an open-door policy for everyone just to walk in.

I am not anti immigration. I am anti immigration when it comes to slavery and people being used for greed. It has more to do with their employers than with immigrants. They get used and then abused! Not a very nice way to treat people!
Maybe it should be easier to become an American citizen. I never had to try, so i do not know what it entails, only that we have quotas on how many people of certain countries we allow. I do not agree that people should praise people being illegal and not having to pay taxes or whatever else other Americans have to do while getting benefits, but I am not sure that is what happens. I think everyone should be welcomed in here, if you live here for whatever amount of time it is to be a citizen, then I am open to you being here.
I'm pro immigrant if they are here legally and in a very few cases even illegally.

What I & so many others have a problem with are the criminals, those who get free health care (when many citizens can't), who refuse to learn english or assimilate, yet want the same rights. The list is endless.

I wouldn't go to another country illegally to get the benefits & expect to get the same treatment & rights as the citizens while wanting nothing to do with it's culture or rules.

In Az I saw illegals get all kinds of benefits & help. But if you were a U.S. citizen or had a green card & needed help little was available.

If you want to come here and work and/or live do it legally & assimilate, not set yourself apart. It's kind of hard to feel sympathy for a bunch of people waving mexican flags demanding their american rights. Bet we wouldn't get by with it in Mexico even legally there.
LEGAL immigrant yes, ILLEGAL no.
I'm totally pro-immigrant
Just not illegal immigration
Yes I am as long as they are here legally helping our country progress rather than illegally and holding us back.
I'm pro-immigrant, both illegal and illegal. I think it's funny that this issue has been around for decades, with immigrants groups, academics, diplomats trying to get it addressed. It's like the politicians just got the memo a few months ago, that's when it became the "hot issue" in time for election year. Shows the narrow-mindedness, amnesia and hypocrisy of US politics.

If we don't address the issue, we'll just keep having an underclass of people w/ no rights, no legal identity, easily exploited. It is NOT good for us as a society to this class of people...since the criminals can just dissolve into the illegal population. It leads to many more problems such as welfare fraud, drug trafficking, people trafficking, thievery, and also leaving us open for terrorists to be smuggled in too. This is why we need comprehensive reform not just a guest-worker program or sealing off the borders. We need the whole package...that way law enforcement can stop running after dishwashers and fruit-pickers and focus on the real criminals!

addendum...the only illegal immigrants I would want to GO HOME would be criminals or families who are not working here but "playing the system", since they are just a burden on society.
Pro legal immigration.
Pro LEGAL immigrants? Yes
Pro ILLEGAL immigrants?? NO!!
Yes I am. I would not have my daughters if my ex-husband had not came to the US when he was 8. The down side of the story is he came illegally and was deported at the age of 22. Illegal immigration tears families apart and I think it would be very beneficial to have a law that would make it easier for immigrants to enter legally. It's not that they prefer to enter without authorization, most of them have no choice. If the immigrant is unable to show the embassy that they own land, homes, have bank accounts and other ties to their country then they cannot obtain a visa to enter legally. Some people are just trying to survive.
I'm pro LEGAL immigrants.

Anti illegal aliens.

But that's what you were really talking about wasn't it?
NO
Legal immigrant sure. Illegal immigrants are ruining our schools and health care by overstraining our resources. That is why we have immigration limits, to begin with.
I wouldn't exist if one of my parents didn't come over from Italy, and the other from Ireland!
NO!
Sure. My dad was an immigrant - and my great-grantparents on my mothers side were also. All came here legally. There have to be rules though, and people have to follow them.
