Are all people in the world entitled to the American dream including terrorist, gang members, and criminals?

Barack Obama said ""I want my daughters to be raised in a community in which all people, and not just some, are considered part of the American dream."

Does he mean that aside from Americans, people who break into the country by sneaking across the border or overstaying visas should be entitled to the American dream, or does that apply to all people in the world, including those that haven't broken into the country?

I have an aunt living in Australia, is she entitled to fly in here and stay for the rest of her life?

When Obama says "all people", does that include the convicted violent felons, terrorist, gang members, etc?

Answer:
Most that want the American dream for all are either wealthy and live in a gated communities and have body guards. Or they are illegals themselves. When Obama started his run for president, fearing for his life, and being paid by the tax payers he had no problem with FBI agents as body guards, but when we as citizens demand our borders and ports to be secured we are called racist
The well heard American dream is a simple verbal statement meant to describe the lifestyle of the general American population. atleast the succesful one (NICE HOUSE NICE CAR , NICE JOB)...

so everyone has this opportunity.. i think they should stop classifying as american though...

since it is quite international
Have you seen the movie "Scarface"? Watch and learn...
Keep the terrorists and gang bangers, but bring your Aunt.
only if their government permits
I personally don't give a crap what Obama wants or doesn't want. He said he gave a poor answer in a debate because he was tired. Would that mean he can make poor decisions for America and be excused because he is tired? No way, no how for Obama.
well they would be but they aren't if they do bad stuff
No, but all good, poor people aren't either. Their better life is at our expense, and the lifeboat can't hold everyone.
Everyone is a criminal, it just depends on if you have been caught and to what extent you take it to
I would think that felons have the right to try to make a better life and live the dream, but otherwise, I think he is likely pointing to class levels and breaking the glass ceiling many feel keep them from reaching their dreams. Money and bias cause many Americans to not get the education, healthcare, business starts, etc. that they may dream of.
The American dream is that every man will have the opportunity to become successful. The dream is that a person born into the poorest of circumstances would have the opportunity to become a successful businessman or a highly respected politician. It does not relate to a standard of living. It is all about having equal opportunity to pursue your dreams.

Obama is talking about the lack of opportunity in this country and the inequality. This is not a racial issue. It is a class issue. The people who live in poorer communities do not have the same quality schools or the same opportunities to succeed as people who grow up in more affluent communities. Obama is talking about trying to level the playing field a bit. Give more children the opportunity to attend a good college. Provide the necessary health care to children so that they are able to get care when they get sick. Give them a chance to compete on the same playing field with those from a more affluent environment.

This doesn't have anything to do with immigrants or foriegn nationals.
You are thinking too much about it, it is sad. You like to take things out of context don't you? Get over it, it's not what you think he said.
Obama, is sounding more like, Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton, every time he opens his mouth, Unless you are black why are you listening to him. We have heard it all before,
