Answer:
As an American, I am not in favor of the proposal as it stands.
I support stronger border security and I support the removal of illegal aliens.
I am a first generation American and my family had to wait it out, so can everybody else. If people want to come here and what they do to get here is break the law, I don't know that I really want those same people staying.
The ONLY exception that I personally would condone is in cases of asylum where a person can prove they would be harmed if they were returned to their home country.
could you summarize that

i'm confused with numbers
No. Traitors to this country are behind it. People like Reid who now call illegal aliens "illegal Americans" cause a lot of the problems.
Thanks for posting this valuable info, but what's your source?
Yes.Reports of these sellouts phones ringing off the hook from angry U.S. citizens.McCain was at 20% now he's at 7%.hmmm.
The majority of Americans oppose illegal immigration and legalization of those residing here illegally. Politicians seem not to care though. Makes you wonder who's "best" interests they're looking after.
Where did you get your numbers? New York Times and Time Magazine, in a combined poll on 6/3/07, reported that 67% of ALL Americans - including over 50% of all REPUBLICANS - support the immigration reform bill that has thus far failed in the Senate.

[added] National Review summarized Rasmussen from 6/13. Interesting change in 10 days.
Most of my family, friends and colleagues are not in favor of it.
EVERY unbiased/legitimate poll shows a huge majority doesn't want the Senate's pile of crap!

That's what makes polls such as the LA Time so stupid! Besides the fact that they personalized the question so that people would indicate if they wanted their gardener deported, the questions were so biased. That's why they showed that 2/3 wanted amnesty. TOTAL LIE! (Remember how the Times predicted that Grey Davis wouldn't get recalled and that Arnold wouldn't be elected?)

The NY Times poll is also a joke and very biased! Hey, Alias, try the Rasmussen poll instead of the junk polls that are meaningless!

Why can't the Washington weasels listen? Why is "Jorge Bush" such an idiot where he has to "convince" Americans about how the bill is good?
If 20% of Americans don't want this passed then it shouldn't pass. Unfortunately, we put that power in the hands of those some of us have elected...you would think that if most American people are against it then the politicians would listen.

Those who are pro need to start flippin the bill for all of the costs incurred by illegals...but, they probably won't have a good reason for paying just like they don't have a good reason for wanting illegal immigration to pass.
No,the numbers show that America is against this amnesty joke.
The government is afraid of being labeled a racist country. I am against amnesty, let alone a guest worker program and can honestly say that I don't know a single person who is for it. Basically, you can't believe all statistics.
