I just foind out that Illegal workers are paid above the national minimum wage $6.25 per Hour is this true?
If so how can employers be benefiting from employing illegal people? it does not make sense, maybe they work harder or something. There must be a catch somewhere, is there?
Can anyone explain this?

If it is true, (in some case somewhere) the employer would still make out in the sense that they would not have to pay for insurance (medical, dental, etc) for an illegal. They most likely are not "on the books" so they are not paying/ withholding taxes.
And it is true, most Americans, it is assumed, would want a much larger pay for whatever jobs the illegals are performing. It is unfortunate, because this makes it appear that the illegal is a "better worker". It is like rewarding people for committing a crime- entering or remaining in the country illegally.
Illegal workers here are making $8/hr for construction jobs. Legal citizens were making more than twice that
It isn't that illegals work harder necessarily, it's that they're willing to work for less money because they send it back to their families in Mexico who can easily live off of the money that is received.
I'm sure SOMEWHERE there MIGHT be ONE employer paying a crew that money. NO benefits; no unemployment; no taxes, things that make up a big share of what your salary DOESN'T show that the employer pays.
Since they are often paid under the table, there are NO rules being adhered to.sicne they make whatever the employer is willing to pay and they are willing to accept.
ANd like any other financial exchange--its all about supply and demand.
They make about $8.50 - $9.50 per hour in my city for roofers and construction labor and yes most employers here do feed them a meal during the day so they do not have to leave the job site, the US worker gets anywhere from $21 to $30 (plumbers) per hour depending on experience and different types of skills, so as you can see the contractor is saving big $$ on labor - ever notice that house prices keep growing? That savings is not being passed on to home buyers... Some of the builders in my city are in serious trouble for breaking labor codes and working these people 12 -14 hours a day (straight time, no overtime) some are getting hurt and have no workers compensation coverage. In my state government assistance was provided but due to the huge outcry in some of the cities many of them now have bills in the works to prevent the use of taxpayer funded programs to non citizens, two of our cities have already passed these laws but the laws are being challenged by special interest groups.
It depends on where you live how much the illegal immigrant makes, in some states (or cities) $6.25 per hour would be unheard of, but they are almost always paid less than the US worker counterpart, that is why companies take the risk of hiring them - well that and our government does not enforce immigration laws.
i really don't have an answer but there is one mexican making 400 a week under the table not taxes or anything . my husband and this mexican work on the same dairy and my huband makes 250 my husband milks which is supposed to be more money than outside work the mexican feeds calves in morning and gfoes home till about 5 in the after noon he totals working 4 hours a day my husband works 7 hours and 7 a week the mexican gets weekends off .also i read that someone said something about the insurance and dental well the boss here pays for all the hispanics medical bills and dental . not the whites. this just ain't fair
