When exactly did your ancestors arrive or immigrate to the "New World".?

Answer:
My father in 1951, and my mothers parents in 1948. In neither case they snuck across a border, my father came from Italy when he was 3. My grandparents came from Scotland after WWII
Earliest in the 1600's latest in the 1800s. All before there were subsidized services for the poor.
Which ones? I have Native American roots as well as European.
My mother's side of the family has been around for at least 250 years. My fathers family arrived from the Ukraine about 100 years ago. But, if this is about immigration, again someone is confusing immigration with illegal immigration, which the latter is the issue.
Don't know wasnt there. And does it matter? If this is a lame attempt to justify illegal immigration it's not working. America was free game back then. No immigration laws, and no borders. So, try again. Is it really our fault that the old mexicans didn't have a strong enough army to defend their land? Casualties of war.
Part of my family is Iroquois Indian so I assume they were always here but the Irish and german ancestors came here in the 1900's and the Mexican and French ancestors came here in the 70's
1700's on mother's side, 19-teens on father's side. And on my Dad's side, they came legally, spending weeks waiting on the ships, days going through proper processing on Ellis Island, and then obtained their legal citizenship.

Even my g-Grandmother, who was born here, and married an immigrant here, lost her citizenship (as was the law at the time), and had to re-apply - to become American, again.
i truly can't call what happen to my ancestors immigrate and the records are LOST to time so i don't know exactly date of arrival in the new world
1600s, 1700s, 1800s & 1900s. Some came from Switzerland and England. Some came with the Pilgrams. Some were Minute Men and fought against the British. Some were pioneers and came across the plains out west.

They were good honest people that worked their butts off and came here legally and obeyed the law. They cared bout their new country and wanted to help it grow. They didn't sponge off the tax payer like the ILLEGAL ALIEN CRIMINALS do today.

My mother legally immigrated from Canada in about 1953. She died in 1957 before she had a chance to became a citizen. (I was 5 weeks old, born in California and my dad was a citizen - I'm not an anchor baby!)
1) My Cherokee ancestors: LONG before the Europeans came here.
2) My Creek ancestors: See above.
3) My Irish ancestors were brought here, manacled and chained by James Oglethorpe, with the founding of the Penal Colony of Georgia. They had no say in coming to the New World.
My father's family (my current surname) came in the 1660s to Virginia from England. My mother's Scottish family came around the time of the Irish potato famine so the immigration bureau dropped the "a" from the "Mac" since they couldn't tell the difference. Other Scottish relatives were here early enough to get her in as a Daughter of the American Revolution. Her Finnish ancestors were the most recent, her grandparents were from Finland and settled in Idaho because the winters reminded them of home.
about 5000 years ago
1600's , 1700's. 1800's
Plus Native American so far back I couldn't even tell you anything about it except that the story goes that my mother was a descendant from the same tribe as Pocahontas.
Sounds like fantasy..LOL....but there have to be descendants somewhere. I gladly welcome good people from foreign lands as long as they just don't walk into our home without persmission. The idiot illegals are making it hard for the good, hardworking, hightly moral people who may or may not be legal themselves.
a long time ago but i have no problem with immigrants
descendant of slaves from South Carolina that were here since being bought over in the 1600's. Basic point, over 95% of Americans were born in the US. That 95% are not considered immigrants. The illegals coming over that were not born here use the united states population history as justification for their crime of illegal entry which is as frivolous as a dog in diapers. Like someone said above, when our ancestors came to the US, there were no borders or immigration laws. How can they compare such history that occured so long ago, hold it sufficient and correlate that to today's modern US government and policy?
Some as recently as 50 years ago and some as long ago as the last ice age across the Bering land bridge. Am I American enough for you?

Edit: OK, so I bit, sue me.. But these questions usually lead up to some tripe about how we should accept illegals. We're all immigrants, it's just how we go about it that is different. Some choose to break our laws and this really irritates me.
About 100 years ago..LEGALLY!
This has always been our land !!
my ancestors came here in 1620. Mr and Mrs branham.
Most of my family came to America in the 1600's and 1700's according to my mother's extensive genealogical work. My direct ancestors all came from either Germany, Sweden and England.
1927 in the case of my paternal grandparents, 1900 in the case of my maternal great-grandparents. (the irony is that both sets of my mother's grandparents met on the boat from their homeland, one set Irish, the other set Dutch).
