I am a permanent resident. My wife is not. Can she petition for work?

I've been married with my wife for over 6 months, and I've been with her for almost two years. I am a permanent resident and she's not. Can she file any type of petition so that she could legaly work here in US? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Answer:
If your wife is here legally, when you filed the Form I-130 Petition for Alien Relative and the Form I-485 Application To Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, you should have also have filed USCIS Form I-765: Application for Employment Authorization. Once she receives her I-766 Employment Authorization card she can get a Social Security # and a job.
She needs to apply for a green card and a SS number.
You shouldn't have a problem getting a resident alien card for her. That and a SS card is really all you need for her to apply for work.
