If your family were hungry or starving, what would you do?
if it were the only way that you could see to take care of those that you love, don't you think that you would go at lengths to take care of it? there are some that come here with an education, work hard and stay to themselves...they are humans looking for a better life.
how about them that do the jobs that you don't even want to think about doing? and, do it for less money. there are a lot here legally and yet treated like they're here illegally as well. just because of an accent or color of their skin, people automatically think "illegal".
i could go on, but there's so much more...what do you think you would do if you were in that situation? REALLY think about it too.

Anything I had to, and I have. You will never get any understanding from these people, they have not known hunger, homelessness, never lived in abject poverty, for them there has always been unemployment, welfare, food stamps, social security, disability and other social programs. The very thing that is unavailable to most countries they have been depending on for generations.
I would even work at *gag* McRottens, if my family was hungry, and I couldn't get any other job.
The statue of liberty says,

How far we have come from there.
Find a job and go to work. You cannot justify illegal immigration! The government of Mexico doesn't have immigration laws that are easy on people sneaking in. Look at the people from Central America they capture and send back.
There are ways to come here legally and go to work. If we allow them to continue as illegals, then where do we draw the line???
I'd do what I do everyday...I go to work and do the best I could with whatever I had. And if I made the decision to immigrate "legally" to another country, I would do it because I desired to become a lawful citizen of that country.
Again, we spend a lot of time trying to say that it's ok for "illegal" aliens to be here, because they are looking for a better life. True enough...but that doesn't make illegal immigration ok...it's not...end of discussion.
Let's quit playing this ridiculous shell game of equating illegal immigration with legal immigration.
You know I have good German friends who have been trying to get their green card for over five years. They are here lawfully under the HB(105??) Visa working and paying taxes, but eventually they will have to return to Germany unless they get a green card and eventual citizenship.
They are very frustrated and have on more than one occasion said, they might as well do what all the Mexicans do in order to remain in this country.
I'm sick to death of folks defending illegal immigration.
That's just the point no one in America has had to suffer any injustices or had to watch their families starve so they have no empathy.What a sad bunch we have become but yet proclaim ourselves as Christians and our country based on Christian morals.How sad is God with us?
Do you not think there are hungry people here in the US? There are thousands of Americans that struggle to feed, shelter, clothe, their children.. there are many more that don't even have health insurance for their children... our government help is a scam because it never helps the right people... and here people are worried about the poor from other countries.. we need to take care of our OWN before we start worrying about people from other countries- make sure our own citizens are being helped, make sure our own citizens aren't hungry, make sure our own citizens have affordable health insurance...
What about the starving in Africa and Asia. Lets let a billion people come in.
What about the middle east, Russia, all the countries under the former Soviet Union and India, Pakistan ect.
We should pay for their transportation,give them housing and pay for their utilities. Otherwise we are selfish.

Well my 2 daughters and I were in that situation when they were little. I picked oranges for a living,I picked tomatoes for a living. I didn't get food stamps or any other help. I worked those jobs till I could find something better.
My problem with illegal and legal immigrants is that they holler for fair treatment while waving their countries flag. They are in my country wanting my jobs wanting to live here, They have one hec of a way of showing it. If they want to live here they need to learn Our language and be an American. We shouldn't change Our way of life for them! They can leave their flags at the border or stay in their own country that they love so much. leave us alone!

Get real pay these people who do lowly jobs a living wage...take away the pay these CEO's get and maybe a few basketball, baseball, (insert your favourite sport here) players should work for a waitresses pay. Americans get your priorities strait! say no to enslaving those Mexicans and lower educated. say no to sports until they lower their wages... make those who do the most importand jobs more prestigious and better paid. pay the guy who rescues you from the burning building more! pay the lady who take care of your children more! pay the social worker who helps those who would kill them selves. help the worker who assists the handicapped person to get to the grocery store! pay the garbageman better!

Rich politicians also believe that apparently offshoring is okay in the IT field because it's jobs americans don't want to do when many go through college to do them. How would you feel hearing that crap time and time again?

Very few of them are starving. Good try. Coming to the US is not going to solve the larger problem. They need to make Mexico better. I mean, are they just going to keep coming here forever?

That is no excuse for entering our country illegally!! Some of them are here for all of the freebies that they can get. And then some are here to actually work and make a better life. They need to go through the proper channels to become "legal" citizens. You can't break the law cause you're hungry and it be OK, otherwise Bubba wouldn't get arrested for busting the window at Quick Trip to get a candy bar.
Many ladies worked in the fields picking beans, strawberries, tobacco, milked cows and raised their own kids. I know of one who lost her husband and raised two kids and wouldn't go on welfare. She also took in washing clothes. When her kids got bigger, she went to babysitting for people. After her kids got out of school, she got a better job in a factory.These are true examples of what a person will do to keep from starving. This was in the 40's, 50.s and 60,s. With the cost of things these days, I am not sure this could be done without the help of welfare. This is an isolated case, but there are plenty more out there simular in nature that happened here in the USA.
I'm trying to put myself in a person shoes who lives in Mexico for instance and has a wife and four children. The Government doesn't do anything for the poor and underprvileged. I would have to depend on the rich people to give me a job to support my family. Many of the rich people already have a traditional family who has worked over the years for them at a minamal wage, so my chances of getting steady work in Mexico is almost null, except for those who are lucky enough to work in a factory. My only choice would be to try to make crafts and sell them, grow things and sell them if I had a piece of land. If I had no land, my chances of supporting my family would be a real challenge. I would then turn to my church and charitable(lol) organizations for help in feeding and clothing my family. My last best hope would be to apply at another country for a green card or worker permit to work in that country. I would want to move my family out of Mexico where I can give them a better life. I would not do it illegally, if I had to set at the door of the President of Mexico until he gave me the means to support my family.
The truth of it is this. There wouldn't be people coming to this country for a better life IF the Governments weren't so corrupt. I name Mexico as one because of the media coverage. President Fox was for sending the poor people over to the US to work, so they could come back with US dollars for his country, which in turn made the rich richer. The poor kept on working at min. wages to make Fox and his rich elite families maintain their rich bank accounts and property.
I hope it will be better with the new President, but it's doubtful.
Until the cycle of poor environment is not broken, there will always be drug traffic, crime, starving children, you name it.It is incumbent on the rich to adopt their own stradegy to take care of their countries problems. If they don't, shame on them.
If I broke the law I would expect to pay the price if caught. What about our children's failing schools and our closing hospitals and soaring insurance costs? It is fine to say 'the government should give us more' but WE are the bank account for the government.
Please, if you really want to help your fellow illegal, tell them that running away it not the answer. Stay home and risk life and limb so that your family have a better tomorrow. Their are billions in the world that would love to come here, but we are not the Salvation Army for the world
If they are that desperate, they should band together and force change in their own country, not come and mooch off this one.
How about meals on wheels at the local jails,institutions and so.
Or..dumpsters since we are known to get rid of tons and tons of leftovers!
