Not me personally, but my daughter is struggling to find a part-time/summer job before she goes to university. All the big stores here in NE Scotland seem to have non UK nationals in them.
Also I know of a big garage in the city here that has just gotten rid of all their Eastern European mechanics because of errors. They have cost the company over £65000.00 in repairs due to their bad workmanship.

Some people (seemingly a lot of Mexican people as well as U.S. citizens of Mexican ancestry, two very different things), as well as other supporters of illegal immigration seem to think that all illegal immigrants come from south of our border.
Nothing could be more untrue. While the wall will keep out the immense tide of illegal immigrants entering our country from that direction, it will do little to stop the thousands coming in from Europe, Asian countries (including Russia), and Africa.
A surprising number of them are white.

It has also been affected by legal immigration. I welcome them, and will take the disadvantage that brings (more competition).
I'll continue to fight against people who skip the serious contagious disease check, the felony background check, the minimum job-skills check, by entering the country illegally.
Not me personally but my eldest son and his gf are hospital workers on the minimum wage who relied on overtime,to give them a little extra cash every week. Then an influx of EU workers arrived and within 6 weeks they had noticed a huge difference at work. Now there is no overtime and two days last week all the staff were sent home early as there was no work. It didn't use to be like that when he first started there and he is really fed up as he and his gf never go out as they can't afford to. It's not fair or right but there isn't a thing anyone can do about it as they are all from the EU.
Mate...the government has made a real mess of things, we all know that.. Its an insult to the people who fought in the war to keep this country safe...only for future governments allowing this country to be flooded.England is doomed.
Politicians have made awfull decisions, they would rather waste billions on wars than pump money into getting people back to work, they don,t give a dam about us.Local councils waste money too, instead of helping people . Is possibly due to requirement to have attended either a 2 year or 3 year(degree) training course ?There is a shortage of hygienists in U.K. I have noticed that more dentists ask to see proof of registration with our governing body and proof of current indemnity insurance.

European meat industries has not effected me, but I remember the first time I got out of the Army, and I went to a beef slaughter house that was advertising for apprentice butchers and maintenance repair men. There was a lot of us, between the age 18 to about 25, that were applying. Blacks, Whites, Mexicans that were Americans, about half of us Viet Nam era veterans. Five people were hired for the positions. They were all illegals. We found out they were illegals, because there was a human resources person that quit and told the local press what had happened. The kicker, was that they were hired at the same wage that was promised in the advertisement. This was about 1975 or 1976 in a packing house close to Loveland, Colorado.
no. cheap labour you say wonder if a way can be found to make it less cheap in all countries . is this really so cheap labour or are people being set against each other. as to the south of the border assumption some people do know not all come from there the focus has been primarily on them hence the discussion to remind not all are illegal who live wherever. also the focus is kept on illegal ones and this might pose a problem for those who are not but are assumed to be also there is an assumption which could be quite offensive that illegal immigrants or others from elsewhere are prostitutes because they are from eastern europe or drug dealers and gangsters

What cheap labor in europe! Their like the most expensive labor out there! Although here in america there is alot of cheap mexican, indian, and chinese labor.

But this is our own stupidity in having a ridiculously strong pound. The IT industry has had a 70% drop, we don't manufacture anything so... there is little along the job lines now. I remember in the 90's it was so easy just go to an agency and there was always work. Now no chance!
Just consider the following things;
1) How often do you see Made in UK or Made in Britain on something?
2) How often do you see the Budget actually lower the price of something? Like house prices etc...
3) What encouragement do you see for creating new businesses? In EU there are tax incentives and easy loans/grants, in Asia, China, Viet, Thailand etc... all have Economic Development zones, 2 years no tax, cheap industrial/office unit rental on offer. And in the UK you get.?
Oh yea you get the Princes Trust 500 quid support. Well thats all good for bus fare I suppose!

I'm in the construction industry and have only sub-contracted to English foke. I was asked by a foreign women if I could give a job to her husband. The answer was going to be "no" so I said "Not a problem, tell him to bring in his CITB paperwork and it would be sub-contract only so could he also bring a copy of his Public Liability Insurance." That put an end to that.
Vice versa, I only do work for English foke. I'm too busy when it comes to foreigners.

My daughter works at a local factory making car parts for nissan cars, (nissan cars in Japan Not UK Nissan)
Of the 123 employees 27 are British. The rest are Polish who have a full time interpreter with them.
How crazy is this country, Poles making Nissan parts here in the UK to send to Japan!
