Can you travel on air inside US with an expired State ID?
Do you guys think that the airport checking will be strict so as to notice the expiration date and cause trouble?

I can totally help you on this. I was on a business trip and lost my DL. Luckily my old license was in my briefcase. I called the airlines and they told me just to get there early. I went through a full security screen and was able to get to my flight.

Yes they check dates. Ever since the majority of these 19 guys who either flew their hijacked planes into buildings or got taken down by some hero's on board were found to have expired visa's.you can be they check dates.
I had an expired drivers license on me, handed it too them and they pulled me out and wouldn't let me fly until I went back to my car out in the lot and got the current license.
Why don't you just get a new ID card?Then you won't have to worry about it, but you better call the airport to be sure you can travel or you might find yourself stranded at the airport.
