If the USA moves its southern border 400 km north wouldn't that solve most of the immigration problems?

Immigration problems. Too all-encompassing a term. Every year, thousands of Americans who have everything and are proud of it, flock to "exotic" countries as tourists. They spend a lot of money on their visits...and then they come back and buy properties.and then they come back and invest in businesses...and then they come back and stay. They want what we we want and they buy it before we can. Immigration problems???

no, it will not solve the problem. People want to enter the US based on the programs US has to offer, they do not just want land, they want a means to establish their dreams and lives. So, I am not sure what will solve this problem, probably nothing because man will always want something.
I would say NO. The only difference is that immigrants will have to a longer trip and w/h to pay more to the 'coyotes' or people smugglers. People coming illegally are very needy. They are willing to die in the cold or heat to reach the 'North'. This will only make their trip 400 km longer.
You obviously don't live here in the USA, so don't say such things. How would you feel if we started picking on your country about matters that are serious to you?

How many times? That is absolutely unworkable. They would just come again and laugh. Now, a few good land mines might work. Make them do something to get here. Maybe some practice air strikes. The sad thing is that the rest of the world waits while Mexicans cheat. Don't know about you, but I have had enough.
I think that each country that forces their citizens to flee to the U.S.A. must pay a fee per person. Any financial assistance we give that country should have a $10,000.00 deduction for every illegal immigrant caught. Half should be give to the person caught to get them back on their feet.

The only thing that can work is to create an instant id check database so potential employers can verify legal status before hiring anybody, and then some great big fines and jail terms for anybody who does not run the check. We could implement this in a month or two, if we had the political will to do it.
NO. The Mexican government would then control the Southwest and the economy would go to hell and then they'd all move farther North. Then it would be somebody's idea to give them more of our country.
we could relocate all of the US to the northeast and give them the land, but it wouldn't change anything. They want our infrastructure, our economy, our money.
In this whole mess, where is the accountability of the Mexican government? They are quite content for the rest of the world to look at them as some slackers who can't get their act together, meanwhile they reap double dividends from corruption and the people fleeing sending their money home.
