How can you tell if somebody is here illegally?

ppl say that illegals are hiding in the shadows so we don't know exactly 'who' is here illegally. So how do you spot an illegal immigrant?

Answer:
Say "Is that an INS agent over there?" and if they get antsy or run, then you know they're here illegally.
u dont tell, u ask
By the way they cut the toilet paper and flush the toilet
Look for the sign around his or hers neck, realy this is your question ??
Instead of having random drunk driver check points,we need to start having random illegal alien check points.
If you really want a answer you cannot. Even if they do not speak english u still cannot.
Easy - Go to your local Home Depot or any construction supplier who has a busy intersection and a Taco Bell. They are all over the stinking place.
if they don't speak any English they are illegal
Yell "La Migra" and see who scatters.
you can't. plus why would you ask this question if you know what you were going to get? people like youself need to stop worrying too much about immigration, it's sad when you sorry people have to talk about it too much.
lmao... i like Harry Balzak's answer. NIIICE!
You don't actually "spot" an illegal alien, you "discover" an illegal alien. When a cop gets to the scene of a crime or disturbance, the first thing he does is ask the people involved, including witnesses, for I.D. Legal residents will have I.D., illegal aliens won't. When opening bank accounts, legal residents have proper ID. Illegals don't. Etc. There are lots of points at which the legal status of a person becomes evident, so that while they do "hide in the shadows," they do have to come out, and interact with society, in its official capacity.

Also, the inability to speak fluent English is a dead give-away, since people born here can speak it, and people who spent time preparing to come (usually, legally) can speak it pretty well. People who just snuck in a couple of hours ago? Not so well.
