My boyfriend has been in the US for around 6 years. He had his green card for about the same time as well. He applied for neutralization and did well on the test. But after the test. he never heard back from the Immigration again. This was more than 1 year ago. He finally went to Immigration and was told that they denied his request to neutralize. But the only thing he didn't do was taking the oath. We don't understand why he was denied. He has no criminal record or anything even close to it during his 6 year stay in the US. We'd really appreciated it if you could let us know if you have any explanation for this. We are both students, so we really need this. And what can we do about it?
Answer:
Wait for the new immigration policy to become active and then come in illegally. That's all I got. It's sad that people who make an honest effort get screwed while others are rewarded. Yours is a sad story and a sad testament to the state of US policy.

talk to another immigration officer or supervisor. you should be told why he was denied.
naturalize is the word, unless you are talking about getting him fixed...seriously, only they can answer that question for you. They need to provide an explanation for why it was denied. Don't give up, keep asking and speak to more than just one person. It may have been a mistake.
Is there someone higher up that you can talk to? There has to be a supevisor of some ort that can tlk with you and help you out. I hope it works out for you! Good Luck!!
