don't they (US Embassy) have any time limit to complete a case?I'm totally puzzled what to do. it's like horrible nightmare. I can't take any decision to finalize. Is there any procedure to accelerate the process? They have taken 5 months already.last time i asked about the latest update of my case they said "This visa has been conditionally approved and we need to do some additional administrative processing. We have initiated the processing and are now waiting for the additional processing for this case to be completed." but they didn't give me any time frame.

It is a very taxing process for those who work in it. Be patient, they are doing all they can to get you approved. 9/11 changed how the process works... forever. Now every "T" needs to be crossed and every "I" needs to be dotted. You and thousands more are in the same situation.
Don't get frustrated with the process - at least you are doing it legally, and you should be proud of that fact!
If you have the means to hire an immigration attorney they can help accelerate the process. I believe the INS website can provide you a list of attorneys.
