I recently became a U.S. citizen and got married. My husband has a green card. How does he become a citizen?

my husband is already a U.S. green card holder, but would like to become a citizen. what is the process?

Answer:
question is how long has your husband had his green card?
if more then 5 year's, he can already apply for U.S citizenship
or wait for 3 years due to marriage
How long has he had the green card?

Look here:

Your husband may apply for citizenship if he has been a lawful permanent resident for 5 years or when he reaches his 3rd year anniversary of marriage. Whichever comes first.
same as you. you must apply via applilcation. go to www.uscis.gov the app is there. there is no more laws that grant automatic us citizenship by marrage that law went out decades ago. it is a old wives tale. for the laws go to www.gpaccess.gov and see us code or www.fedregualtions.gov and see immigration
HE HAS TO APPLY! Citizenship isn't automatic!!!!!!
