Yes, obviously they do.
They kept saying the bill was about x and y, when it was really about a and b. They assumed we were stupid sheep who were unable to read it ourselves, to be precise.

Bluntly, I'd say the answer is mostly yes. Politicians have observed that they can get people's votes without doing a damn thing to earn them. What should they think other than the people who vote for them are, if not plain stupid, at least so manipulable that it comes to the same thing?
Yes to our legislators think we are mindless sheep and yes to uniting the US, Canadian and Mexican economies.

I don't need our politicians to tell me that Americans are stupid sheep. They seem to be shouting, "I'm stupid" at the top of their lungs. I'm finding it difficult to understand why Mexico and Canada becoming the fifty first and fifty second states is a bad idea. Plenty of oil in both countries. Great beaches in Mexico. Fantastic skiing in Canada. What's not to like? Unless of course you have a problem with people who speak french or Spanish and might have different color skin than you of course.

Even though Bush was not there at the begining,he is a big part of what is wrong at what's happening now,we have a congress with Ted Kennedy as the ring leader calling the shots that affects the lives of millions of americans,this failure of the immigration bill for the first time in many years sent a message to congress that the american people would not let them get away with their usual under the table payouts, there is nothing more scary to a politician than an angry voter
