How can my bf who's from Belfast, N. Ireland find a job in the US so he can move over?

My boyfriend is from Belfast, Northern Ireland and we've been trying to figure out how he can move over here. I know that with a work Visa he could stay for 6 yrs, which would be wonderful, but the prblem is finding a job/employer in america that will apply to the US labor department for a working visa for him. Does anyone have any ideas on how he can find a job? He just left after visiting me for a month, and want him to come back as soon as possible

Are you thinking of Marridge? That would be the fastest way...K-1 would be the way to go.if it is work related, he would have to have a specialty that the US has a need for...but that can take quite awhile...also, go to www.uscis.gov and explore other options there..
try monster.com but the larger companies are typically more willing to help with visas. Also, most listings there now will need someone before April when h1B opens again. However, larger companies sometimes need people on a ongoing basis and will 'look ahead'.

there is also the diversity lottery opening in October for North Ireland (the rest of the UK is ineligible.) Many more apply than win, but it costs nothing to apply, unless you are selected, and if you are you get permanent residency, after a background check.

Meanwhile, however, as long as he doesn't abuse it he still has visa waiver, and you can usually extend that to a period up to 6 mos. The problem is if you DO abuse it, you can lose it.
You should go to your local dept. of labor and explain the situation to one of the people in charge there. They will definetly help you, Good luck.
check out www.uscis.gov and maybe that will help. He has to have a specialty that there is a shortage for in the USA to get a work Visa.
Make sure you follow the law because if he gets caught and returned to Ireland..it will be a very very long time before he can touch USA soil again.
It would be a lot easier if you came to live here. Probably cheaper too. I brought my husband from the US to the UK without the help of lawyers. Would that be an option for you? I could tell you how we managed it if you like?
