Where the native americans forced into revervation camps? or they chosed to?

Answer:
I disagree with the statement that they have been compensated, because not having to pay taxes and being given land is not even close to being compensated for being nearly exterminated. But they are not forced onto reservations, exactly. They can live wherever they want and not pay certain taxes. But if they live on the reservation they don't have to pay any taxes. So it's not really forced, it's more of a persuasion.
forced
Forced...what does this have to do with what is happening now? They have been amply compensated for their sacrifices. Should see their schools...top of the line with brand new swimming pools...renovated ever 3 or 4 years.
I don't why the Americans think they own all the world and force everybody to do that they want
They weren't camps
they were forced. they were considered "savages" in their "civilized world"- what was done was wrong... but we have tried to compensate for what we did.. the ones that choose to stay on the Reservations (because obviously now, they can live where ever they want) have their own Government, their own law enforcement, their own schools, they don't have to pay taxes on the land, no matter what they build- casinos are becoming popular for Reservations, it's all pocket money for them, without having to pay any taxes...though whatever we do, will probably never be enough to compensate for our ancestors past wrongs- we have tried though
Back in the day they were forced.Today it's choice. But the choice is a complicated issue in itself.

Congratulations! You are the best at being the worst!

They were without a doubt forced!
yes they were. and BIG JOHN WAYNE is responsible, between shooting the indians and the japanese and slaughtering most of the north vietnamese, he has a lot to answer for.... it is a good job there was only one of him... what would he have done in IRAQ?
They were (are) chunks of land that was less favorable and so the government decided it didn't want it. Most didn't offer much to base survival on. So I doubt they chose it.

If you had freedom, would you choose a cage?
Most were forced onto reservations at the end of a gun. Some went because thery were sold out by their own people, who signed treaties for their own benefit. The so called "Chiefs" that made the Trail of Tears possible did this and once they got to "Indian Territory", Oklahoma, the members of the tribe found out what they did and some got their revenge.
