Why is there so much hatred against Mexicans?

I do not understand the bigotry against Mexicans either. I frequently eat a restaurant owned by someone from Mexico who came here legally and they seem very grateful to their customers and they provide a wonderful service, but some people attack them in this general anti-Mexican rampage we are seeing.
We should not be judging anyone on their ethnic origin, but on the merit of their work and how they contribute to society as a whole.
You kind of lose credibility when you say 'they only pick on Mexicans', because it simply isn't true. In some areas Mexicans make up the vast majority of illegal immigrants, and people in those areas may speak of Mexican illegal immigrants because that is who impacts thier lives where they are.
Mexicans get the most attention because they're the most numerous and most visible group of illegal immigrants.
It's all media perception. it's easier and more dramatic to show 10 Mexicans making a dash over the border than to show a person from Fiji who has overstayed their tourist visa for 10 years.
We are a nation of immigrants. It used to be the Irish, the Italians, the 'Boat People' in the 70s that were all going to destroy our country because of mass immigration.
Fact is...If someone is savvy enough motivated enough to enter this country under great hardship just to find work they and their families tend to do well and contribute to our country
Honestly? It's because racism is alive and well in the US of A. If Germany were to our south and German immigrants were coming here there would not be such an outcry. The Goverment and the media do their best to depict the mexican immigrants as untalented job-stealers who are breaking laws, while ignoring the facts: we want them here, we need them here, and they give us far more than we give them.
I, too, share your feelings. My guess is that people who are reacting this way are reacting more to what they perceive are differences (whether it is difference in appearance, language or religion etc.).
One reason (that I think there is) is when they protested in America demanding things and waving the mexican flag. If they want to protest anything let them do it in mexico against their government. We should also STOP any and all money they send from America to mexico.
As far as I am concerned they turned me completely against them. They should be found picked up and thrown out. And the ones on the border that threaten our border patrol. It should be shoot to wound.
Its mainly due to numbers.
We are experiencing the fastest growth EVER in the history of this country. People from mexico make up the largest share of that group.

Over 10 million Mexicans live in the USA (according to Mexico).
Mexico encourages and assists the illegal aliens to break the laws of the USA.
Mexico is a corrupt country where US Tourist are routinely "shaken down."
Mexico continually tries to interfer with the INTERNAL workings of the US government.
No other country acts that way to the USA (it's greatest benefactor).
It is like a spoiled child that takes favors from a parent, but then does hateful things to the parent.

And no, they are NOT good hard working people, they are criminals who break US laws.
Another proxy argument. Most Americans don't hate Mexicans or anyone else as long as they are legal. Americans as a whole do object to the waving of the flag of another nation on our soil while protesting. You show disloyalty to America when doing so.

What good have they given us besides packed jails, packed welfare rolls, and third world diseases?
Immigration to America in the 17th to 19th century was by decent, hardworking, well intentioned people, heading to America with honorable intentions to build and contribute to society. They created a workable social system with benefits to the deserving and a society of well-intentioned and decent people. But no such people come any more.
Now they come in droves, packing the major cities, causing an increase in crime, congestion, and taxes as real estate rents soar, parking is unavailable or exorbitantly high. Americans who took their entire lives to pay off their home mortgages, now find that the taxes on their homes are so high, they cant afford to live in them any more and the congestion so bad, they cant even find a place to park in front of their own homes. Many have to pack up and move out of the city, just to make ends meet, and then face the arduous daily hours of driving back and forth just to get to work and back home. That is, those that still have jobs, since as this goes on, jobs disappear, either right here where we get laid off, or the whole company moves out to a cheap labor country. And as the hordes make demands for energy needs, power needed to heat and light homes and buildings is insufficient, and cities black out, the demand for gas soars, heating prices skyrocket, and our own supply of gas becomes insufficient to meet our own needs, and we become victims of the arabs, who use the pumps to revenge our policies they don’t like.
They pile over the borders or by plane on visitor visas, preying on the good naturedness of Americans to provide a refuge for the oppressed, they connive the appearance of the downtrodden and persecuted, and then sit down comfortably and stay here, leeching off the health care system which faces bankruptcy in 20 years, the welfare system that us sucker u.s. taxpayers have to pick up the tab for, and which we spent decades to build.
Social parasites from latin america, flock here to live free on us sucker taxpayers, dragging their families and relatives in, once they get green cards and then swamping the health care system with their third world illnesses and birth defects. And the other breed of latinos – criminals of the most evil intensities terrorizing communities in which they rob and kill.
Thieves and common criminals from the countries of eastern Europe and the soviet union, hearing that there is still stuff on store shelves when stores close, that hasn’t been shoplifted or sold, come and steal, with impunity.
Mafia organizations that control Russia and the countries of the former soviet union, setting up foreign crime systems that specialize in grand larceny, weaponry, even nuclear arms materials for sale, stolen from the old soviet system, available for sale to our enemies, raking them million$.
Africans with strange ,deadly diseases walk in, causing epidemics and death to our gay citizens and to innocent people in general and swamping the health care system.
Asians with alien religious philosophies, contrary to Christian monotheism, poisoning the minds of our youth. And they come and take our jobs away here in America, while employers, enticed by cheap labor, move their companies there, leaving us unemployed,.
Terrorists walk in and go about their death tactics with ease and we shudder at what they will do to us next.
All, contributing to crime, violence, social unrest.
Finally, To add insult to these injuries to our nation, our government picks up the tab for hundreds of thousands of third world “students” to come, pack our universities tuition free at the expense of us US taxpayers ,while we Americans fall into debt to pay for our own children to get a college education.
AND WE ARE EXPECTED TO PICK UP THE TAB WORLDWIDE

If you want to say they are good hard working people, I would have to say that is a generalization and therefore it is wrong. There is good and bad in every group. The reason Mexicans get picked on is that is is their country not only letting illegals in through their border with us but they are also encouraging it.

I think there is a back lash because they unlike other illegals have such attitudes. actually DEMANDing the US bend it's laws to accommodate them, to allow them to stay here.
all the while protesting via a interpreter because they haven't bothered to learn the language of their adopted country.
there is also a backlash amongst those who live in areas that have become overwhelming Mexican.
many do not seek to become "Americans" but rather remain Mexican and duplicate the barrio here.
There is a high school in Chicago that now has two shifts because so many Mexicans have moved into the area.
Americans are not used to living in crowded third world conditions and resent their neighborhoods and schools becoming so.
The fact that folks have the temerity to wave another country's flag while doing so just adds insult to injury!

Because their bastards and racist people with no good in them, and have no sympathy for those poor people. And because society tells other ethnic groups to go with the flow and have hatred towards them two, like the media in movies, TV shows, and in the news, so that's what I think.

I think it comes down to people's ignorance when they talk about illegal immigration, that leads to talking about illegal Mexicans, then that leads to talking about their hate towards Mexicans and they don't even know it.
