Does anyone believe in these arguments I hear the Anti-Immigration reform saying we believe in?
I don't and I don't know where anyone gets that we do.Maybe we all need to have a civilized chat and get off our high horses and quit with calling each other racist and anti American because we believe in doing something in a different way?Maybe together we could work out a REALISTIC proposal that would benefit our country?

But anywho.there are people who work hard who WANT to be here.then there are those that are here simply to TAKE all that they can...
If you are a hard worker...contributing to society and doing all the things you can to be part of this coutnry...then by all means...you should stay (even though you broke the law...ok fine)
But there are drug dealers, welfare abusers, leaches, gangbangers, and well you get the picture...those people MUST GO.
I don't think that someone who has been busting their asss in this country for 10 years, doing all they can to support their family that they have here and are doing everything they can to be good people should be sent back.just not worth the cost involved to get rid of good people.
Send all the leaches back!

No I don't believe anything that the proamnesty bunch say. I think that it is all a bunch of liberal hogwash.
I do think that there are people in this country that should be made legal...and I also think that there are those in this country that need to be deported IMMEDIATELY.
If they said..ok...you can be made legal...but you get NO benefits reserved for those that are citizens for 5 years. And they deported those that have no business in this country...then I would be more willing to work for immigration change. But they are not doing that. So I can not support what they are doing.

We need to bring back flogging, the stocks, and sending undesirables to the new world, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan. This may make them think twice about coming here.
Here's my rant, people say they do jobs that most Americans don't want. That is true, they do some things I don't want to do. How about this, deport all of them, stop giving free health care and making me press 1 for English. Then, take all the people who are on welfare and give them the jobs. With the new 3 year limit on welfare, this would be a good opportunity to get American citizens back into the work force.
Again, just my opinion and I'm not trying to knock people on welfare, it is a good system if and when used properly.
If I thought any laws about immigration could actually be enforced, I would be in favor of just taking care of the issue comprehensively. However, there still are no real deterrents to more of the same. Until there are laws that stop the initiatives for running across the border, it will keep happening. I truly believe that is the reason people are in such an uproar about it. We no longer have any confidence in our government whatsoever.
Oh they believe they are superior to Americans and as such they are entitled to stay. You can't work out a deal with people who think they are superior to Americans.
We have many misconceptions about each other because of the extreme questions and posts for both sides. I will admit to you that I have thought that many of the things you addressed in your question are true but I have read some questions and posts from some of the pro's that give me hope that many of us are not so far apart in our opinions.
As for reform, I am not against some reform even though absolutely no attempt what so ever has been made to control the flow of illegal immigrants across our border and those who overstay since the 1986 fix. The reason you are seeing anti's who do not want to cooperate is because we have no reason to trust pro's, they keep telling us that we are going to enforce this or tighten that but as yet that has not happened and many believe that it will not and all illegal immigrants must be deported to end the problem. You are going to have to earn the trust of anti's now.
The border needs to be closed NOW. Closed to all but legal traffic and then we begin to handle the illegal immigrants that we currently have. Show the anti's that something is actually going to be done instead of more talk about enforcement and citizenship for another group of illegal immigrants which will cause even more to cross over and overstay.
We can meet in the middle if we try but an olive branch needs to be handed out and I am sorry it will have to come from the pro side, if the border is not under control the entire bill is not worth the paper it is written on except to those who would receive benefit from it in the form of citizenship.
Anyway I an not anti pro I am just pro citizens, in my mind citizens come first and then we try to meet the needs of those requesting citizenship.
By the way the H1B visa section in this bill is a flat out insult!
I gave you a star because it was a good issue to tackle and with the hopes that it will attract many of the pro's voices which I have noticed have not answered (as yet?).
I'm for immigration reform. I do however advocate some form of amnesty and I couldnt care less if they learned english.
