I want to go to New Zealand on a 2 year Working Holiday Visa.?

I am aged 30 and the New Zealand Immigration site says that people from the United Kingdom aged 18 and not more than 30 years old are eligible.

I just want to know if they are talking about the age you are when you apply and go or does it matter that I will go over the age of 30 during my time there?

I have emailed this question to the immigration website but they could take 3 days to reply and I want to try and find out sooner.

Thanks, Neil

Answer:
You are eligible to apply as long as you are not under 18 and not over 30 years old at the time you make your application. You become over 30 on your 31st birthday, so how many months plus 30 you are is not relevant. It does not matter if you pass the age of 30 during your working holiday in New Zealand. If that were the case then NZ Immigration wouldn't accept applications from anyone over 28, would they?

By the way, and without appearing to be pedantic; the actual working holiday visa for a UK resident is either 12 or 23 months. And hopefully you are aware that even on the 23 month visa you cant work for more than 12 months.

If you haven't already seen them, all the conditions of entry are listed at the link below.

I do wish people would stop answering questions when they don't know the answer.
i was only able to get 6 month visa and had to reapply while there the big ones are saved for rocket scientist just nock a couple of years off and write the number so it could be one or the other ages are rarely checked as long as you dont look sixty
if you go to new zealand you will have to have a sponsor, and allot of money private house rental is not cheap, ( average rental is $450 dollars a week "" YES A WEEK "" ) but the houses are amazing, you will also need a return ticket that is open for 26 weeks, but the life style their is so very different to this country, a piece of advice GO DO`NT HESITATE good luck ps my son went and he is 34 and he has been there just on a year pps look on a web site called TRADE ME it list`s all the jobs for skilled and unskilled and allot more one more thing get your police report done before you go it cost 10 pound`s from any police station and takes 6 weeks. it saves on the paperwork when you apply for residence plus its very expensive if they do it down their
As you are already 30 years old, you are over the age limit for the working holidaymaker visa (because you are 30 years and X months old).

Unfortunately, I think it's unlikely they will let you apply for this visa.

(But in answer to your specific question - it's the time that you apply for your visa that matters. So if you were 29, and due to turn 30 during the period of your visa, it wouldn't matter.)
