Marriage??
Answer:
Marriage should be for love, not citizenship. you are degrading the sanctity of marriage if you are only marrying him for that reason. Why not try and find out about sponsoring him and if it works out and you feel like you want to marry then you can do it for the right reasons.
This is not the best question to ask a bunch of strangers with all of the issues we are having regarding illegal immigration right now. You can expect to get a lot of answers you don't want to hear. Not that it's right but, you knew the type of reactions you would get when you posted this question.
i know you care about him a lot but do you really want to marry a guy just so he can get a green card? i would think long and hard about this, i really don't think that your family and friends would approve of this and if he wants a green card that badly he should get it on his own not through a marriage.
well my opinion about getting married for this reason not with standing yes i think they do have to be with you for a while but my aunt was air force and she took her husband and kids with her every where even over seas
My father was a G.I. and he got married to my mom who is a Spaniard. What he did was got married and then got her a visa, green card and the rights to live in this country. They didnt live here in america for too long before they went back to spain for a few years. she still isnt a citizen, but she is legally here.
and to the gentleman Mark Foley.. I just want to say that what you posted concerning this lady's fiance was uncalled for and i concider you a racist, narrow-minded, primitive, hateful, socially backward, evil, corrupted son of a *****.
You shouldn't marry someone just so they could get a greencard, for all you know he could be playing on your emotions just for that reason.
Even smart girls get fooled by guys who want something from them. It's pretty well know that marrying someone in the military can get you a green card faster.
You can easily marry him, that's the easy part. You will have to be his sponsor though which may mean you are responsible for his financial well being. As long as he hasn't been married before the marriage will be simple. Check the gov't website.
I doubt it's true with your friend - but for many people trying to scam there is always someone sick or needing help. If you are making a huge commitment with the marriage then you should check it out. It's only fair.
Do what you feel is right. But don't forget to also look out for yourself.
