Z visas are amnesty. They allow illegal immigrants to stay here permanently without ever?
Problems with the āZā Visa provision include:
Allowing illegal immigrants to permanently stay in the United States without having to return to their home countries.
Allowing illegal immigrants to cut in line for citizenship in front of approximately 800,000 legal applicants.
Allowing illegal immigrants who are gang members, absconders or fugitives, sex offenders, and DUI felons to gain legal status.
Allowing illegal immigrants to have access to administrative and judicial review of visa revocations, including those for terrorists.
Allowing illegal immigrants access to public health benefits burdening American taxpayers.
Allowing illegal immigrants to get Social Security benefits for illegal work performed in the United States.
Allowing illegal immigrants to avoid any serious English requirement.
Dont you think we need to strike the Z Bill?
Answer:
And there are many more items that you haven't listed, of course, such as education that the illegals and their children access, at the cost to the taxpayers. Also, the fact that when they are in the school system, they tend to overcrowd the classes and cause our own children's education to lag because of all the extra time and effort needed to be spent on them by the teacher, due to their not usually having English skills.
Also, only the illegals who feel fairly confident that they will be able to pass the criminal record check and all the other requirements will even take the chance and risk of stepping forward to apply for this Z visa - the rest will not because they won't want to risk being turned down and deported, anyways. Therefore, how will we hunt down and deport all of those who will choose to remain "in the shadows?" And, I would guess that there are quite a large percentage who won't apply due to a criminal record because so many will have committed crimes during the time of living here illegally, if using stolen/fraudulent ID is counted as a crime (which it certainly should be because if you or I did such a thing, we would be fully prosecuted and you know it!) As well, many will have records of DUIs and domestic offenses, as well as other crimes such as assault, etc. Those people will not risk coming forward and we all know that. So, even with this stupid Z visa, we will continue to have many, many illegals in the country, continuing to either work under the table for a cut-rate of pay and/or continuing to fraudulently use ID to get work, continuing to have anchor babies and continuing to access freebies from the government and the overburdened taxpayers, and continuing to commit more and more crimes.
No, I agree, this is Amnesty and I am dead set against it. I still say that if we enforced the laws already on the books, we could deport them all over time and many would leave on their own if it became impossible for them to access any social benefits, education, medical care, under-the-table jobs, etc. It will be a crying shame if this bill passes.
NOPE
AMNESTY 4 ALL
And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Absolutly no Z Visa.
How come mexicans don't like thier contry?
Damned straight, but you didn't mention that The Heritage Foundation estimates that the cost of social services to those who are now illegals will be 2.5 trillion dollars. To put that in perpective, I just read that a plan to launch satellites to shield the earth from solar radiation and thus cure global warming would require tens of thousands of launches and cost $4 trillion. Which is more important? Can we do both?
no amnesty. It also lets all illegals have lawyers paid for by the tax payers at all stages of the process
DEFINITELY! The worst part of the z bill is they are allowing 600,000 visas for workers. That's only for the workers...each of them gets to bring kids, partner, and any other immediate relatives. So in all, 1 visa will bring in up to 10 people each...then what will we do? Social security will be drained in 3 years and our medical costs are going to be through the roof!
If you can't speak English then GET THE HECK OUT OF THE United States!!
What really ticked me off is the other day when I saw a survey! For the race it listed these: African American, Native American, Asian American, Mexican American, Caucasian/Other
yeah, unfortunately, there is something inherently wrong with giving special treatment to those who have broken a law... even if we understand the necessity (poverty) of coming to the U.S.
The real problem is: if we do not give them some form of path to legalization by amending some of our current laws, what then? the Department of Homeland Security is NOT equipped to find and deport over 12 million illegal immigrants (and that is a conservative estimate). that is OVER 12 million... how many border patrol agents would that take? other problem is: that is just the manpower to arrest them, what about the manpower to process them (i.e. think of all of the police personnel at an actual jail, police station etc... DHS would need the same type of structure).
let them stay "illegal" and have no benefits? that is what they've been doing so far...
stop ALL social services to them? they are not going to leave... besides, do we really want to become savages ourselves.
i am not an advocate of amnesty either, but i also try to think of what a plausible solution really would be.
no. i do not believe in temporary passes either. not because they give a legal way to work here BUT because they will not work either. if you are an illegal alien in El Paso, TX, sure, you can cross the border back to mexico and come back in 2 years. but what about if you are an alien in chicago? new york? after their pass expires, they are not leaving... hell, if i was them i wouldn't either. what if you are from central america and live in chicago? how would you get all the way back there? and then come back here?
but i digress. i hear about the Z Bill, but if not that, then what can we do that is feasible?
Grogan, have you read this?
WOW! wait a second grogan,
I think you need to research this before opening your mouth.
The bill would give temporary legal status to millions of unlawful immigrants, provided they came forward, paid a fine and underwent criminal background checks. To apply for a green card, they would have to pay another fine, learn English, return to their home country and wait in line.
The plan also would create a guest worker program. It would allow foreign laborers to come to the U.S. for temporary stints, yet with no guarantee they can eventually gain citizenship.
Both the new visa plan and the temporary worker program are contingent on other steps coming first. Those include fencing and barriers along the Mexico border, the hiring of more Border Patrol agents and the completion of an identification system to verify employees' legal status.
