Visas & Marriage?

Hello to all. This is my first question here.

My fiancee & I are planning on getting married. She lives in Rio De Janeiro, Brasil & I live in Florida. We've been together for 4 years & have decided that it would be best for us to marry here & live here for a while.

She currently has a B1/B2 visa which is good for business & for tourism purposes. We're looking into a Fiancee's visa where she would go through an approval process of 6 to 12 months and after being approved she'd move here & we'd have 30 days to get married.

Basically my question is to those who are familiar with the visas.... Would it be easier/better/legal for her to just come here on her current visa & we get married? Or would it be better/easier for us to go ahead with the fiancee's visa?

Any information anyone can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Answer:
Easier to come here on her present Visa and get married...I did that with my wife, who is from Colombia...everything went smoothly when I filled for her Adjustment of Status of Alien Relative...she got her work permit and everything without any problems...
First of all Welcome! Now, I don't know to much about visas, but I have known people who had a tourist visa, and got married here. But I congratulate you for being so honest and not try and pull the wool over the government's eyes. You want everything to be legal. So, I really would try the other visa you need to get married. Good luck, and have a wonderful life together.
Why waste your time and money with the fiancee visa?

As long as she comes here legally and you get married and apply for her permanent status (green card) while she's here legally, you're set.
My advice is to be very careful with the immigration services- they have taken so much money from my husband and I, and still have not given him his visa yet. We have been waiting for more than a year! Good Luck !
