I personally don't think any business or entity should pay taxes. I believe we should have only a flat income tax or preferred would be a consumption tax.
But, with that being said, if other organizations pay taxes I think all should. There should be no tax exempt status for so-called non-profits, churches, etc.
Anyone breaking our laws should be prosecuted as well. This would include people working for a church regardless of the religion.
Religious beliefs do not trump our laws. Our laws are in place to protect all of us.
Yes if a church or churchs want to get into this immigration ( amnesty ) bill, yes they not only should pay taxes, but should also pay back taxes.------ Oh churches try to give us this, feeling sorry for poor people and they'r fight, but we know better, its all about numbers and money.

Disagree. The church should operate according to it's moral obligations regardless of the law.
Agree. They would then be classified as lobbyists, rather than Gods messengers of the word. Even in Jesus Christs words he says to obey the laws of the cities and countries one is in, and to do so legally. So there must have been some sort of registering back in those days too. As for Taxes he also said - Give to Cesar what is Cesar's... Give to God what is His.
If you are speaking of Sanctuary, churches have always had the right to provide sanctuary to refugees and people in trouble.
If the church gets involved in politics, then they should lose their tax-free status. That means preaching it from the pulpit or trying to influence church members votes or lobby politicians.
I disagree..The church is there to help people.Granted you may see these people as criminals, but in reality, they have only violated a minor law, a misdemeanor.In good conscious, how can a church turn away an individual who is seeking help? For those illegals who are criminals, have felonies, do you honestly think those types would go to a church and seek assistance? I think not...

Why? Because the churches who are playing politics are acting like lobbyists...the lobbyists pay taxes, so WHY shouldn't the church if they are going to act in such a way?
Angela...the illegal aliens who have done felonies already HAVE got assistance from the church. The illegal alien in Chicago committed ID theft, she has a kid and is hiding out in the church because she doesn't want to be caught for her actions.she has been there for a year.
Why not let the Church do some good for a change? The church should be a place of refuge for the people who need its help.
