Immigrants in the land of opportunity: whiny and ungrateful OR destroyed and consumed?

yes they exist. I know of a teacher from India, as in PhD in education, etc., who worked as a janitor in a casino in NV because his degree is not honored here. But he wasn't bitter or anything. He was just happy to have the opportunity for his kids to get educated in the US. He's a legal immigrant.

yes there are, I met one in London, a cab driver.
Here in Canada we have such a shortage of doctors, and there are immigrants who have PhD's to me that is problem solved, unfortunately the government doesn't think so.
LEGAL IMMIGRANTS -- I have seen so many Vietnamese & Korean ladies that have opened up a nail salon. They came from a place where they were in danger of getting shot at. Now their biggest worry is if someone will yell at them if a bill is late - in other word, big deal. They work hard and get a head.
ILLEGAL ALIENS - whiny, ungrateful, destroying our country, demanding rights they don't have, don't belong here, etc..... They don't get a head and just complain!
the majority of immigrants do not fall in your narrow categories. America is about how you want to take it- Yes, there are challenges but the good news is that you can find a solution if you keep pushing!
Obviously. The idea is that qualifications are sometimes not transferable. I dont believe the PHD driving the cabs if he was an engineer, but considering how difficult it is to get a job for PHDs in English/History, etc. then I do believe it. Ever talked to the cashiers at starbucks? Those guys are looking too and some have master's PHDs.
