Living in france?

there are 2 questions i need to ask....

1. as a qualified experienced carpenter what work is available to me in france say on the west coast and can i work legally.

2.i need to find schooling for my 12 yr old.......do the french schools have to find him a place or is it a matter of if they want to they will...feel free to add anything else as this is a general question on moving to work live in france

Answer:
Interesting question - I have a good friend who made the move a couple of years back. They have a younger son but have been through all of the teething problems you can expect.

The guy has a blog about his life in France - take a look and leave him a comment or ask your question directly, I'm sure that he'd be happy to pass on any advice.

I am amazed at how many people dont seem to know what it is to be a member of the EU.OF COURSE ITS LEGAL TO WORK IN FRANCE.
Go for it boyo - could any country be worse than Bliar's Britain - France has good schools, hospitals and conditions for families are good, the food is better and the wine and ale is cheaper too!
