this is my situation" i'm a nigeria citizen,i'm presently in Austria as an asylum seeker.i got married with british citizen since january 2006 and we lived together here in Austria for more than a year,my wife had to move back to England Jan 2007 to get a new job and accomodation so that i could be able to move-in with her in England.i was at british embassy with all the requirement for settlement visa but unfutunately the clearance officer rejected my application due to my statue in Austria as an asylum seeker.pls what can i do?would the embassy recognise the so called "state of sobatage passport?

You are an asylum seeker in a European country and because we have so many asylum cases here in the UK, then I can only presume that is the reason why they have refused your application.
Are you 100% sure your paperwork was all in order when you applied for your settlement entry clearance visa. They are very strict about having the correct paperwork. As my husband (a US citizen) and I have been through the settlement visa situation run past me the documents you took with you to support your application just so I can check you did not leave anything out.
