Would you be willing to eat bio-engineered food that's machine harvested to eliminate illegal farm workers?

Hint... you are already eating bio-engineered tomatoes that are machine harvested. More crops soon will be.

Answer:
food is food as long as it tastes good i'd eat it
I'm not worried about it. i grow my own vegetables. at least i know someones not wiping their as*s with my tomatoes or lettuce.
NO
You do realize, most of us are willing, to eat dirt , if it means getting rid of illegals.
No I'd rather eat food picked by loyal legal workers
and sooner will be the bio-engineered consumers.
I don't think many people realize if we don't have field workers we not only will have bio-engineered food we will also have to IMPORT more food.Sorry but with the pet food scare I don't want my food coming from anywhere else.Besides the cost involved in importing would raise one tomato to around $2.00 each.So then tomato soup, paste and spaghetti sauce too will be much higher.it's not just a tomato but also tomato products that people forget about.
No thanks..Anything engineered by scientists is suspect.Look what has happened to the poultry industry...They eject this chickens with hormones, a known cancer causing agent...Now they want to do this to vegetables?
I'll do whatever it takes to secure our borders. This is a problem that has been ignored for WAY too long. If Mexicans want to come here the right way that is fine, but they don't have a "right" to come here any way they wish and they are breaking our laws by doing so. This is a pretty straight-forward issue if you ask me (or just about any other American).
Yes. Anything to empty this country of illegal immigrants.
Yuppers! No problems there!

You do realize that our food prices (and those of any industries which employ illegals heavily) are kept artificially low AND result in the exploitation of a new slave class? The prices are only low because the industries who use illegals save money by paying lower wages and no benefits.

So you're okay with illegals being exploited as long as tomatoes stay cheap?

But TAXPAYERS are subsidizing the prices of ALL industries using illegals because WE are paying their benefits.

So is it still okay that tomatoes are so cheap?

And, much like "big oil" not seeking out alternative energy sources because oil is so cheap, why would the farmers look for alternative means to plant, maintain, and harvest their crops when they can exploit an illegal to do it for them?

In addition to wanting illegals OUT because they are here illegally, I want them to leave and then reapply to work here under fairer conditions... Not given amnesty because that sends the wrong message that we don't care about our own laws.

But you want your tomatoes cheap...

Did you ever consider that once these illegals are made legal (whether by amnesty or by applying for visas/citizenship the right way and waiting for approval in their home countries), don't you think they'll join labor unions and expect to be paid as much as American workers? And expect benefits just like American workers?

Still think those tomatoes are cheap? Is it possible for them to be cheap again?

Really, the only way is to make the illegals go back to their home countries and let the supply/demand cycle and American industriousness and ingenuity settle how much the jobs should actually pay...

In the end, your tomatoes may cost a bit more, but everything else will cost less and your taxes will go down when we STOP paying for illegals' social programs (free birth, public school, school breakfast & lunch, etc., etc.).
I have yet to taste any tomato half as good as those my friends grow in their gardens.
Ahh, but what if I was allergic to tomatoes and couldn't eat them? ;)
I usually grow my own or get them ones still on the vine. Who's gonna run those machines though? Will it still be an illegal? lol!
How about we allow the farmers in every state to grow what they want instead of limiting the amount of say, corn grown. Don't limit the amount of milk they can sell. Don't make them sell their milk for pennies, when the stores are charging $5.00 per gallon. The reason we don't have people to work the farms is because the government does all this, forcing the family to work outside the home and hire illegals for peanuts to work the fields.
