Answer:
Roughly 32% Mexicans live in poverty. About 12% Americans do.

Inform yourself first before ranting to strangers with moronic conclusions acquired via hearsay.
Just like you said the supporters of illegals immigration do not want us to know this.
There are dozens of countries poorer than Mexico, another thing the pro-illegal alien supporters never talk about either.

Dozens of countries more NEEDING than Mexico.
Well, we also have about 200 million more people, so we're going to have more poor people by volume. But, if you measure per capita, Mexico is much more poor.

One half the population living in Mexico is under the poverty line, and 1/5 the entire population of Mexico lives in "extreme" poverty. I believe that means on less than 2 U.S. dollars a day.

So, we have 52 million impoverished. But that's half the country.

Only 34.1 million Americans live at or below the poverty line. That's only 12-13% of Americans. We see them as Impoverished (capital I) because they have 3.5 times as many people, statistically, and nearly twice as many people numerically, impoverished.

There are wealthy folks in Mexico. But compared to the U.S., they are as wealthy as our upper middle class types.

We don't hear about it because no one wants to hear about the folks who are doing well, they want the suffering and the pain. Those are the ones who need help.
Many Mexicans in Mexico are not poor, and live pretty good lives there. But the ones who come here illegally are usually the poorest, uneducated ones that give all Mexicans a bad name.
It's just another one of those things that us little unimportant Americans aren't supposed to know.
Hi. I live in Mexico. I have a nice house, a country house, savings I have traveled around the world, and so more, and I am a teacher.I do not consider myself a rich person, however I have friends who really are rich. Some of them do not consider me to be in their standard of living. I would never like to live out of my precious country, the weather, the food , the people, etc., however many people go to U.S.A. to work. They are really bad treated, and they still want to stay there. I only go there for vacation. I have been to the most important cities and places from the U.S.A., however there are a lot more beautiful places outside the U.S.A. to visit.
Mexico is the richest country in Latin America. The problem is that up until recently, they had a dictator for 70+ years with no free elections. Where do you think all their money goes? It doesn't go to the poor or starving. It goes to their rich republicans who are even greedier than our republicans (if that's even possible). So, you have a few rich people who own most of the country. The rest either survive with what they have or try to get out by coming here illegally...
