i know mexico doesnt do anything to their immigrants who get shipped back but a light smack on the wrist.
Answer:
You don't need to sneak around and suffer, break laws and be a drag on society.
When you enter Canada Apply to stay and live this will take time (better then freezing your @ss off and getting chewed on by wild animals).
You would not last 1 hour in the Canadian wilderness.
There is an immigration Canada web site set up to help people who wish to immigrate, visit, work or study.

There is no USA law that I know of that punishes a person for "illegally leaving the" USA unless they are a fugitive from justice or cross at an unauthorized point.
Mexico welcomes as heroes its citizens who are deported from the USA. However, it imprisons and/or fines Central Americans who transist Mexico without permission.
I don't think Canada would punish (other than deportation) any one who crosses illegally and hides in the wilderness for years (some one has to be bear food!).
