Would visiting your native country within 12 months slow the process of becoming and American citizen?

If you Living in America (married) waiting to become a citizen visiting home for a short period wouldnt cause any problems right?

Answer:
no it wouldnt be a problem...as long as you are not out of the US for more than 6 months at a time...the only thing is it might delay you getting ur citizenship...other than that...its okay to travel to your native country .........
Why you are going would be key I think.
are you a green card holder? i would go to www.travel.state.gov did you apply as refugee or asylee? if you did they would frown on that. it shows you lied to get in. if you did not then you can leave for a short period of time due to you not being a citizen. otherwise if you leave before you stand loosing your pr status. they can notify you at anytime to take the citizenship oath. it took my ex a year but the notice finally took less than two weeks. you now need a passport to get in and out too.
