Is just living together as a couple without marriage just another way to cheat the government?

taxes and if children are born tax payers pay for the child being born and raised? etc etc etc

Answer:
No. I've never heard of that. Doesn't matter if you are married or not you still have to pay your own children's expenses. And married couples actually pay less in taxes. Where are you getting this stuff?
No, why force marriage.
No, unmarried couples pay taxes too. All working adults pay taxes, whether they're married or not.
Well if marriage is just a way for the government to make money, why are they trying so hard to prohibit same sex marriage?

It's no business of the government if two people decide to live together without the benefit of a piece of paper saying that it's ok in the eyes of some church.
Not necessarily. Depending on the state you could actually end up paying more taxes (Dependent credits)and some states will get you under common law marriages so you will be married anyway.
Everybody pays taxes.
This is a big generalization and furthermore has nothing to do with immigration. Don't be so close minded.
No, actually. The 'marriage penalty' was dropped a few years ago.
You must have thought about this in great depth, maybe 23 seconds?
yes
You get a better tax break if you're married.
I live with my boyfriend and have for almost 7 years. We have both paid our taxes. How am I cheating the government? I am not. I pay for my share of the bills and the ones I have of my own and he does the same. That is not cheating the government. What it is is enjoying life without a piece of paper being signed to tell me I am his and he is mine, when we already feel that way.
The way to cheat in this arrangement is as follows:

Daddy has a half-legitimate bussiness and makes a fairly good living while not paying taxes, and living half-way off the grid so IRS wouldn't get him. Without obvious expenses, such as mortgage payment, car payment etc., IRS has nothing to put him on it's radar.

Mommy is on welfare, housing assitance and free state-sponsored medical insurance. She may work a little bit (strictly on paper) in Daddy's friend business, just enough to justify receiving child credit, maximized earned income credit and show some little source of additional funds so nobody suspects anything while generating a business deduction for Daddy's friend.
Actually the constitution of marriage is something that I don't understand why the government have be involved with. Furthermore how do you figure that living together couples without marriage is cheating the government? They do not get tax breaks from children or anything else unless they are married. I think you are confused.
I am sorry to inform you that you are a little mistaken, While you are not legally married in the eyes of the state you actually pay taxes as a single person, although the mother can claim child allowance you do still pay tax as a single person or parent.
